"Telephone companies have been abandoning their public telephone booths by taking out the phones and leaving the structures beehind. (Probably due to the rise in cell phone users.) I want to reuse these structures as a way of communication with the public once more by replacing that empty space with paper-mache beehives. Vanity is my mistress
Pride is my bride
They live in fear of my humility
And try not to misguide
Love
I have for peace
Wont cease
Like a weeping wound
Bleeding tears that
Scarred backs
Can never hide
A heart cying out in pain
The number of times it died.
To mind that loves her
And to the pain of
The body does not bind.
She lives in the spirit of my
Bare foot walk
And stamps her imprint
From behind..
A buzznet lane
A blogger street
A path
I create
To unwind.
She loves someone else
Her physicality
Is so kind
Standing tip toe
At her trembling door.
I kiss her through
The ventilator off my mind.
Vanity is my princess
Pride is my bride.
They live like my two eyes
To see
My vision and not divide.

This is a shop selling Alams silver standard heads of the Panjetan Paak..that is the Holy Prophet, Hazrat Ali his son in law , JanabeFatima his daughter, his grand children Hazrat Imam Hassan andHazrat Imam Hussain.
And these kids I espied from my cycle rickshah.. reversed just to take this picture.. there is no pictorial greatness but they are under the shadow of The Alams and our Imams and our Beliefs and Our Pain .. our heritage as Shias.. the American soldiers stationed in Iraq that write back to you will tell you an unseen fervour more stronger than anything or any governmental power the power of Ya Hussain ..
Ya Hussain... Moharram its the grief and nothing else that matters to a Shia.
And nothing can change the ethos of his being born to mourn for his Imam.
Western thought may not find acceptance to this practice and this belief.. but it exists for last 1400 years,, they tried to stop it, denigerate it as misguidance but the love of the grandchildren of the Holy Prophet and the ultimate sacrifice at Karbala.. surrmounts everything... there is a small Imambara at our rented cubilcle of our house and wife the women folk do Matam.. at the end of it distribute the Hissa.. sweets.
I was wondering where I will go this Moharram.. I am stuck in Mumbai.. all the fervour is in town at the grand Moghul Masjid.. I havent gone there .. last evening was a massive power failure no lights..
there is no internet connection at our new place...
Incidentally the rented place is ironically a building built on cards , looks like badly bombed edifice , is unrightfully called White House at Bandra Bazar Road.
Allah says, “Never will you attain the good until you spend from that
which you love. And whatever you spend – indeed, Allahis Knowing of
it.” [Quran 3: 92]
Think about that. Allah is telling us to give away the things that we
love the most! SubhanAllah! Why does Allah ask this of us? Is it to
liberate us from slavery to material possessions? To f0cus our minds
on Allah and the aakhirah (hereafter)? To prevent the evil that
results from the love of money? To benefit the poor?
Yes, for all of those reasons. Excessive attachment to any
materialthing is misguidance. The love of possessions is a spiritual
trap.
I have at times given away things that were precious to me, thinking
they wouldmean as much to the otherperson as they do to me. Sometimes
they do, and sometimes they don’t, and yes it hurts my feelings when
the other person doesn’t value my gift; but eventually I get over it,
because the point is the actof giving. And maybe – Insha-Allah – I’ll
have something to show Allah on Yawm Al-Qiyamah (the Day of
Resurrection), maybe I’ll be able to say, “O Allah, I gave away
thesethings that I loved,” and maybe that will earn me some
forgiveness, Allah knows.
There is a powerful spiritual lesson in taking anobject that you love,
and giving it away. I remembera middle-aged brother named AbdulKareem
(Damis-Salaam, for those ofyou who know him). He worked hard,
supported a family, and got by on a tight budget. One time he got a
nice brown leather coat, the long kind that comes down to the knees.
It looked good on him. Then a younger brother, a teenager with poor
manners, said, “Man, that’s a cool coat. Can I have it?” Without a
word, AbdulKareem took off the coat and gave it to the teenager.
There’s such a strength of character, such freedom from attachment, in
being able to do that. That was 27 years ago and I imagine that
AbdulKareem (who is an old man now) has forgotten all about it. But
Allah sees and remembers./

The only thing that makes the dark sky look beautiful amidst the countless stars is the Moon! From gazing it through our windows till setting foot on it, we humans have achieved incredibly bigger in making the dreams coming to reality. On 24th July 1969, Apollo 11 astronauts Neil Armstrong, Buzz Aldrin, and Michael Collins landed on Moon. After that, we have never made regular visits to Moon for the past 40 years, except sending spacecraft for observations. Despite such a long gap created for the next human missions on Moon, some upcoming promising missions like Artemis are aiming not only to land on the moon, but also to build colonies and start living there. It is of course challenging to live on Moon but it isn’t impossible. After we found lunar water near the poles, hopes of dwelling on the Moon became stronger, thanks to the Chandrayan1 mission.
However, apart from fantasy, the question of why do we have to go to the Moon is still arising in young minds. In the current scenario, the way we are treating our Earth, it is uncertain to settle the life on Earth for our future generations. Hence it is of course the Next Stop-Moon needed. On one side living on Moon has many advantages over Earth. Yes! The moon has almost 10 times lesser gravity than that on Earth. This means that there could be a possibility of direct satellite launches from Moon to Space without building expensive rockets. Rockets are mainly needed to escape the stronger gravitational pull of Earth. So, we can forget to build rockets if we are planning to launch from Moon. This has made the life of scientists easy. Not just that, the dark craters on the moon are very much beneficial for astronomers to observe the night sky from Moon. The presence of an atmosphere on Earth disturbs the night sky observations for instance: the stars. When we observe the stars, it appears to be twinkling. The reason behind twinkling is as the light from a star hits through our atmosphere, it bounces and knocks through the different layers, bending the light before we see it. The bending of the light changes because of the moving hot and cold layers of air. Since Moon has no atmosphere, this phenomenon of twinkling will not be witnessed and therefore doesn’t misguides the astronomers for their scientific studies. The last question, what do we do for survival? Well, there could be a farm near the poles where we could get access to water. 8 hours of sunlight per day is sufficient for plants to grow. Therefore, problem solved! But, we have to take care of temperature and radiation because we have no atmosphere on Moon to protect from extreme conditions of these. Moreover, we have to even think of insect’s pollination. All these have to be provided artificially.
Thanks to nature and all the creatures we have on Earth that provide us everything for free but sometimes we fail to recognize their importance. So, before we are too late, let us value each and everything we see around us. Because even an insect plays a vital role for our survival on Moon!

"War Memorial" is a misguiding expression. It's not the war we're supposed to remember or there would be no sense having names on them, right?
Made a bratwurst and sweet potato chili a few years back that I felt was pretty good. I decided to take it a bit higher and add a few more ingredients to it, most notably an equal amount of ground beef as well as some hot sausage. There’s also celery and fennel added as well as some tomato paste and apple cider. This is also for a larger amount of chili than the initial recipe yields so most ingredients are doubled or substantially increased. The increased yield is also why I added tomato paste to he recipe, even though the amount of diced tomatoes is doubled I felt more tomato flavor than two cans of diced tomatoes was going to be needed for this amount of substance.
15-30 g. Bacon Grease (optional)
If you’re using ground beef that is less than 85.15 then you probably won’t need any extra grease. I used 85/15 here so I added the bacon grease just in case.
565 g. 85/15 Ground Beef
500 g.. Pork Sausage
225 g. Hot Pork Sausage
450 g. Sweet Potato (peeled & cubed)
225 g.. Red Onion (diced)
I thought about using regular potato here but the cook time for chili is so long that cubed white or yellow potatoes would likely just break up. Plus the orange sweet potatoes and the purple-red onions, and the green peppers are typical Halloween/October colors.
* Brown and break-up ground beef and sausage
* Drain off any excess grease
* Add potato and onion, cover and simmer for about 15 minutes
825 g.. Diced Tomatoes
340 g.. Green Pepper (diced)
115 g. Celery (diced)
55 g. Fennel (diced)
55 g. Jalapeno Pepper (diced)
100 g. Apple (peeled & diced)
2 cans Dark Kidney Beans (drained & rinsed)
170 g.. Tomato Paste
20 g.. Chili Powder
3 g. Dry Cilantro
10 g. Cumin
2 g. Cinnamon
1.5 g. Cayenne Pepper
Salt
Pepper
* Add above ingredients to meat and mix well, cover, and stew on low for about an hour, stirring occasionally
120 ml.. Apple Cider
340 -450 ml. Beef Broth
* Add cider and beef broth and allow to stew on low, uncovered or partially covered, for about 60 minutes
Green Onions
Sour Cream
Shredded Extra Sharp Cheddar
Hot Sauce of choice
Crackers, Chips, Croutons, or Bread
* Top as desired.
You’re going to need the big pot for this one.
Before you get judgemental, this clearly isn’t just slop thrown together since everything is not only measured but re-measured and converted to the metric system and ‘yes’ I do have a mother who cooked enough when I was a child for me to know what normal chili is. A lot of people will turn up their nose at this but people have been droned into misguidance. ‘Chili’ is merely a ‘stew.’ Potatoes are quite common in stews, AND no additional thickeners like flour or cornstarch should be needed because of the starch in the potatoes. As for the cinnamon, I mean.... It goes good with the apples which go good with the fennel which goes good with the celery which is more common in chili than you might think as it forms a good trinity with onion and bell peppers. Plus they’re all kinda fall flavors and colors that go good with sausage and peppers and onions. You might not like the beans being added but I’m planning on doing some Five Way Chili with the leftovers so I decided to save myself a step... and I like beans in chili. So eat a fart, old man, and go somewhere else to enjoy your 'authentic' chili without beans.

Stop Robbing the Body of Christ
Scriptures: 1 Corinthians 12:14-21
Every day, you get out of bed, put on clothes, and walk to the table to eat breakfast. You greet the rest of the household and maybe read the paper. A few minutes later, you drive to work at 60 m.p.h. on a strip of asphalt where other vehicles can pass by within four feet. In the first hour or so that you’re awake, your body completes thousands of complex tasks that are so routine they go unnoticed.
Our physical frame is a creation of remarkable beauty and intricacy. And while certain parts seem more attractive than others, all are useful. The body’s interdependent nature—that is, the way every part relies on other parts to perform properly—is an apt metaphor for a Christ-centered church. When believers use their gifts and talents to operate together lovingly, the whole body functions properly to the glory of God.
However, churches today are filled with people who feel insignificant. Upon seeing the successful work of others, they decide they’re not really needed or assume they haven’t got the “right” talents to make a worthwhile contribution. Those are lies from the Devil. When his misguidance succeeds—which is all too often—he manages to get one more Christian to back away in hopes that someone else will do the Lord’s work.
Hanging back instead of seeking a place to serve is a form of thievery: you’re robbing the Lord’s church—His people—of your unique contribution. Your role might be small or go unnoticed, but it is vital to Jesus Christ and to the smooth functioning of His body on earth.
Dr. Charles Stanley
I often wondered what was so special about everyone as a child..what was it that made everyone so innocent, pure and fun?
I seemed to have cracked the question. It was because we saw the world as white and black, good and bad, right and wrong. There was no other colour to misguide us.
As we grow old, we no doubt have better colours but we have probably lost the ability to divide things as black or white. We have created a grey area in between that is full of colours, yet devoid of true colours.

This was shot many years back, at Minara Masjid on Badi raat, the malpuah man adds character and dignity to art of poetic malpua making at Sulaiman Usman..
I shot this sequence again on Badi Raat 2008, but the older pictures bring back fresh evergreen memories of Ramzan that binds us all Muslims to the Holy Covenant of Peace under the canopy of Allah.
It saddens me that the ghost of Malegaon cycle bombs came back to haunt us once again..
All this is misguidance and totally antii-Islam to say the least.
The government should deal harshly with terrorism that is nothing but a means to create panic and destroy the very fabric of social life..
Bomb after bomb is attempt to destabilize us as Indians nothing else..
Its not about Christians Muslims or Hindus it is a blow to our sovreignity and our nationality..
This has to STOP..

I am just a rock
and everyday I sit and watch the sky.
I sleep here in the sun and rain
and do not question why.
I don’t want to be a bird
’cause us rocks were never meant to fly.
But you can sit and rest on me
When you pass by.
Alhamdulillah, alhamdulillah, I’m a rock
And that is all Allah asks of me.
Alhamdulillah, alhamdulillah, I’m a Muslim
And there’s nothing else I’d rather be.
I am just a tree
And this is the only life I’ll ever know.
I bow my boughs in worship
Whenever I feel the wind blow.
And my purpose in life
Is to grow when Allah says grow
And be a home for the birds and shade
For folks below.
Alhamdulillah, alhamdulillah, I’m a tree
And that is all Allah asks of me.
Alhamdulillah, alhamdulillah, I’m a Muslim
And there’s nothing else I’d rather be.
I am just a person
And my life is full of opportunity.
I can travel through the world
Over land and over sea.
But will I choose the path of Truth
Or a path to misguide me?
Sometimes I wish I had a simple life
Just like a rock or a tree.
But alhamdulillah, alhamdulillah, I’m a person,
and Allah has given me a choice that’s free.
So, alhamdulillah, I choose to be a Muslim
And there’s nothing else I’d rather be.

This morning there was a distressing news of a 4 year old boy who fell to his death from the 7th floor building at Kandivili.
His parents both work, and there was some plumbing work to be done, so the plumber opened up the grill and the little child it is alleged climbed onto the bed and accidentally slipped from the window..
His grandmother was supervising the plumbers work..
What one reads of this uncalled tragedy is sheer negligence and nothing else.
Parents busy working without any regard for the childs upkeep..no servant , no care.
Its totally the fault of a system and parental misguidance..
The plumber should have seen there is a child unattended before leaving the grill open..but than is it really the plumbers fault..
I feel sad for the parents too and the blame game will continue , the parents are satisfied in giving a chit of an accidental death..
But this not short of abettment by the parents themselves - total disregard..
The grand mother will carry the guilt of the loss till te end of her life.
Seeing Marziya Shakir my grandaughter 5 months old grow , I know what it means to losing a child that has been a source of the familys happiness for 4 years.
