The black and white dog is Bess, who we had for 8 years. We found Deacon soon after her death. And the black dog with the white face with my son leaning on him, that's Hot Diggitty Dog. He was a lab/basset hound mix. Very cool dog. We loved to howl together.
This little dog is my wife's and she had this since she was a little girl so (I'm now whispering ... ) I consider it to be "quite" old! I tried to give it a little bit of a vintage look!!
I think I might have another little soft toy for later in the week!

Hemisperic encoding/retrieval asymmetry model: Left prefrontal cortex is differentially more involved than right in encoding information into episodic memory, whereas right prefrontal cortex is differentially more involved than left in episodic memory retrieval. Because episodic encoding processes usually involve semantic memory retrieval, the HERA model assigns semantic-memory retrieval also to the left front lobe.
This is one of the shoes I wore when I got married. It has been sitting with its mate in my shoe rack for 18 years, abandoned and unworn. What kind of life is that for a shoe? I decided today that I need to set the shoes free; because I have the marriage, I don't need the shoes to help me remember it.
They are slightly too tight. I think I may have bought them that way, because I wanted flats and white satin flats were extremely difficult to find. If I could go back in time, I would tell myself to get a white pair of Keds instead. No one sees the shoes on the wedding day, they are much more comfortable for dancing, and you can wear them again.

The Everett Naval Station was my husbands first and only duty station while in the Navy. Now he is out of the Navy and a different carrier sits in port but it brings back so many good and bad memories of dropping him off and picking him up from work-ups and deployments. I'm so glad he joined and that we had this life experience. But I am even more glad that he is out now!

Scrapbook found in a tiny New England town's cluttered antique store. Lovely salmon colored embossed cover, with fading gold leaf trims, and stunning graphic elements on front. The inside is filled with gorgeous yellowed paper (unused) and the back shows and embossed patent of March 1876.
