This one was filled with too many memories to not post. Jules' Photo Challenge Group's theme for today is "luggage." Our larger pieces of luggage were not colorful enough to make an interesting photo so I pulled out the old "orange bag." (For the group challenge, I used the simple shot.) The tote's name was given to it by our first grandchild.
When we would travel to visit, the bag went along. It was usually filled with an old plastic tablecloth (to be used as an area covering for the artists at work), an assortment of stickers, bubble making supplies, magic markers, paint supplies, books, kiddie tape player with fun songs, or even a camera for the little one/s. The "stuff" in the photo was pulled from a cedar chest where some of the art supplies remain. The "aging" of the assortment is interesting. From the bubbles and very large paint brushes to the scissors and smaller crayons, on to watercolor pencils to pastels and glue. The large magic markers must have dried out or were needed for a more recent project elsewhere.:)
How quickly time flies. Applying for Student Financial Aid - Now the little note pad book, which I think was a freebie from Alabama National Guard, reminds us more of the immediate future than that there are still some blank pages inside on which stick people could be drawn.
I must chuckle at "The Little Red Hen" book. There's a real world out there and at least one retired college professor/dean might have been known to put it on a required reading list. I'm not sure that he did but he "highly" recommended it. . . . so that's the story of the "orange bag."
Very interesting story behind this roll. I didn't realize that it had already been used about 10 years ago when I used it, and when I got it developed, I realized that I had accidentally shot over some childhood memories. This is one of my favorite shots that came out really cool. The original shot was my dog Millie standing in our old backyard, but over it I shot a bunch of snow-capped mountains in my area. It looks like she's standing on them!
Bonnie's neighbor hood friend from childhood sent this along today. Miniature golf?

Memories are like a window that connect you to the past!
You can only see them, but you can't touch ...!
This old chap came to The Library to have "one last look" at the work he donated some 30 years ago. 90 years old, and now living in the North of England, he produced a 30 volume study of the Ffestiniog Railway. Full of his own photographs, maps and beautiful hand written text.
Every now and then he would leave a page open, "...There she is.." he would mutter, and reach out to touch a photograph in which his wife, recently deceased, appears.
Libraries and archives hold more than just dusty old books.

MEMORIES LIKE BUTTERFLIES
Your face is but a wishful thought
Though the tears are real with salty bite
As a yearning , not relinquishing aught
To soothe my soul, and smile as might
A fathers love so all consuming
Passion, pride within your heart so strong
Blissful ignorance the child, as fate was looming
Not comprehending your demise so wrong
The good are taken, or so it seems to me
Before their time by fate and circumstance
If wishes granted, what then I wonder would mine be?
Once more the child again with you, per chance
Protected by your arms around me
Games of fun and laughter played
In those childlike eyes did you see
What you meant to me, portrayed?
Memories as butterflies
Grown the boy, myself a man
But still the tears no matter how I try
To thwart the pain as best I can
Beating hearts and pulsing veins
Treasured moments in this, my journey
The legacy of your love remains
And your shining light still pulses through me

關於微醺記憶
About Memories.

I was catching my breath from a long walk, while doing that these guys came and started talking about their memories. I grabbed my camera and started taking photos from them the only one that noticed me was the dog and he was staring at me.
Made to Order,
you supply 10 to 15 memory items to pay tribute
to a loved one. I construct a lasting memory piece
that they will treasure for years.
Each one unique.

i was on the planning comitte and everything. I'm glad it turned out great. I had so much fun. That's me and my date/secret handshake buddy Willliam and my friend Kebei.
i felt purdy haha.
Hope you all are having a fantastic week :)
Mine has been pretty stressful not gonna lie. I have 3 major projects and english speech, bible speech, and biological origins paper, and i've been trying to help with prom as much as possible. I found out i'm failing chemistry too, not even at a decent fail (???) but it's like at the point where no matter what i do the highest i can get my grade up is at a high end of the F spectrum or a low D. I hate chemistry :/ Well all my nice pretty colleges are screwed huh. Failing my junior year...maybe i'll just be a backpacker or a carney, that would be interesting haha.

The bathroom keeps the walls full of memories. Stickers were put in there by my father and her brothers and sister when childs.
