Shear thickening of the viscoelastic material being demonstrated by application of a force (actually pressure). In this case by trampling on the material's surface. The resultant viscosity increase is sufficient to support the weight of a person so that one can literally keep tampling or walk across the material surface without sinking. However, once the activity stops shear thinning sets in - the participant sinks through the material. UNSW Open Day, 2014.

2. Idea:
I wanted to capture a line that would lead not only to do the entrance of the Cathedral door but also to some of the students that were taking a similar photo I was taking.
3. I tried to position myself around a good/straight distance from myself and the doors to get a straight line that would connect right to the doors using the ground as the line.
Old material is my new make-up portrait fuel. Old wig, old salt, old paint, old flowers. All made new by the amazing Leonie.

La ciudad de Oviedo dedica esta escultura al famoso actor, guionista y director de cine estadounidense Woody Allen en agradecimiento a los elogios de éste a la capital del Principado de Asturias durante su visita, en octubre del año 2002, para recoger el premio «Príncipe de Asturias» a las Artes. Entonces, en el transcurso de una conferencia, el cineasta dejó dicho: «Oviedo es una ciudad deliciosa, exótica, bella, limpia, agradable, tranquila y peatonalizada; es como si no perteneciera a este mundo, como si no existiera... Oviedo es como un cuento de hadas». Aquellas palabras figuran ahora en una de las dos placas que acompañan la estatua de Allen, instalada en la céntrica calle de Milicias Nacionales.
El autor de esta pieza de estilo hiperrealista, el escultor y pintor asturiano Vicente Martínez-Santarúa Prendes, «Santarúa» (Candás, 1936), ha definido la obra como el retrato de «un americano sorprendido en una ciudad que mezcla lo medieval y lo urbano», destacando «la pátina en distintos tonos, muy pop» y singularidades como la protuberancia del lado izquierdo de su chaqueta, «símbolo de la emoción y latido del corazón al estar en esta ciudad». El resultado «es una persona relajada y atónita al contemplar Oviedo».

In light of us being about 6 months away from having a 'baby Olive' in the house, I've been organizing like crazy to transform my 'craft room' into the 'nursery'. The first step was to organize the many different projects/materials I have and store them accordingly in a closet in Justin's office. (Justin calls me the 'Project Starter' because I start so many different hobbies and then move onto a new one. Looking at this wide array of materials, I think he's right!)
