Day 1:
Materials Layout.
All this stuff will make me a Kayak.
Kits are available But I had the desire to do this completely myself.
I also saved about 300 dollars in the long run.
I purchased the plans online from Shearwater Boats, located in Ct..
I purchased the wood, epoxy & other supplies from Newfound Woodworks located in Bristol New Hampshire.
The gentlemen was very helpful and prices were very resonable. He even added the company of his freindly dog Rocky, between questions answers and walking around his three floor shop.
The process is called Stitch & Glue.
Here is a basic summary of the process.
1.You take the hull boards, precutt to size & join them using copper wire.
2.You then apply epoxy to all the seams .
3.After it cures, you then apply a thin coat of epoxy to the entire hull.
4.You then drape a sheet of fiberglass over the hull and apply a smooth coat of epoxy to the enitire hull.
5.Repeat process for the deck, except the applying the fiberglass part.
6.You place the deck onto the hull and epoxy it together.
7.Drape fiberglass over the deck and apply a thin coat of epoxy.
8.Varnish or paint the entire boat.
9.Go for a ride.

Hairy Century Plant: Agave multifilifera
This Agave is immediately recognizable by its narrow, stiff, green leaves that carry copious amounts of curly, white, threadlike fibers on the margins. It can become quite large and form a dense, hemispherical, usually solitary rosette with countless individual leaves that make it a highly desirable ornamental. It is native to Sonora, Chihuahua, Durango and Sinaloa in Mexico where it grows between 1400 and 2100 m (4500 and 7000 ft.) on rocky slopes and cliffs in pine and oak forest. In cultivation it can cope with drought and severe freezes.

Un'indagine sul tema dell'arredo urbano in pietra che coinvolge progettisti, aziende e una decina di città . Le amministrazioni comunali coinvolte forniranno materiali e informazioni relative a uno spazio del Comune dove poter indagare il rapporto tra il design di nuova progettazione e un contesto esistente di particolare interesse storico/artistico in cui sia stata usata la pietra (piazza, la zona antistante un palazzo, viale, cortile …). A cavallo tra la sperimentazione formale e concettuale propria del design e lo spazio urbano pubblico, la rassegna verrà riproposta in altre occasioni in altre città .

An investigation on the theme of urban stone furnishing involving designers, companies, and about ten cities. The involved municipal administrations will provide materials and information on an area within their City to investigate the relation between new design and an existing venue of historical/artistic interest characterized by the use of stone (a square, the area in front of a building, an avenue, a courtyard…). Half-way between the formal and conceptual experimentation typical of design and the public urban space, the event will be repeated on other occasions in different cities.
