Since it's the release anniversary of "The Shining" (May 23, 1980) and last week marked several of the "Star Wars" films anniversaries (and Peter Mayhew's birthday), I made a mess of these two for Mashup Monday.

I think I did a good thing for the world with this set.
I'm finding more and more that soup can be made from almost any ingredients.
I bought a butternut squash for soup today, and thats the bulk ingredient. I brown onions and garlic in olive oil, add a box of vegetable stock, water, then the slice up squash. But I also added in maybe 5 potatoes and all the carrots left in the drawer. Once it simmered for maybe 90 minutes, I pout the chunks in a blender to thicken, returned t pot and added salt, pepper, sage, pumping spice, and some nutmeg.
I made more than a gallon of soup, lots in the freezer now.
In this series of portraits, Emess uses the well-known prints of the famous personalities depicted on currencies like the dollar, the pound, the Danish and Swedish krona or the Turkish lira. Emess combines the antique handicraft style of wood and copper engraving with the “pop-iness” of modern song titles and beyond that deals with our profane relationship to our beloved money.

cMOOC tutors. Richard, I believe this is their Flickr group. Fascinating. #EDCMOOC artifact.
This old cover mashup made in Gimp reflects my feelings about being watched while demonstrating "learning", being part of an experiment about learning and knowing there are learning analytics being harvested.

Amy's hosting a Combo SAL in her Ravelry group and I'm joining in. I want pretty pretty pink princess mittens so will spin a ply of each of these fibers and combine them into a 3 ply yarn. I am blissfully unconcerned about combining these very different fibers. :)

Inspired by Picazzle's jigsaw collages I embarked on a couple of my own. Admittedly this would work better with more pieces per puzzle, but I wanted to stick with something less expensive for a first try. Eventually I hope to do more of these. I am calling them jigsaw mashups.
I think she's listening to a book on tape. It's a giant misconception that DJs are listening to the next track. Long sets allow them time to catchup on podcasts, learn another language, etc. Lots of downtime.

Bart Simpson is involved in a multi-mashup. First, we see him riding home on his skateboard while reading the latest issue of his favorite 'Girlie Magazine,' Miss Piggy, that he purchased from behind the counter at the Quik-E Mart. Second, The Simpsons have experience another episode of multiverse incursion as they have crossed over into the MuppetVerse. Third, they have entered into the MCU to accomplish the crossover. Fourth, there is a solid brick wall just out of view screen left, and Bart is headed for a painful mashing as he collides with said wall.

I saw a few people ask about depth-of-field stuff after seeing Er!ck's picture...
It's pretty easy - the aperture relates to depth of field in that a larger aperture (smaller F-stop) means shorter (tighter) DOF.
Simply put - larger F-stop, greater DOF - smaller F-stop, tighter DOF.
Compare the strings/frets on the guitar in the picture, and you'll see...
