Built in 1925 by Lewis A. Smith, who also designed the Vista Theatre on Sunset Boulevard, the Rialto’s architecture is an odd mashup of Spanish Baroque and Egyptian kitsch. The interior features several original murals and a drinking fountain made of Batchelder tile, a mark of California Arts and Crafts design
A long, and I mean long day of chasing this guy left me cold and tired but happy to have seen this guy for the second time! Another one of CN's heritage units on flash! CN 3069, honoring the famous Wisconsin Central railroad brings up the front of M340 as he pounds the diamonds South!

Using a collaging process similar to the one I used to create my Abstract Collages, I combined a number of pieces from the VIsual Mashups group. Then seriously overprocessed the result using, amongst other tools, Photoshop's Liquefy.
Mashup is a musical genre which, in its purest form, consists of the combination of the music from one song with the a cappella from another.
Ideally, the music and vocals belong to completely different styles/genres generally considered to be incompatible, yet skillfully and artfully combined into a pleasurably euphonic hybrid.
Needs some work. Mainly textures. I'll fine tune the vest/shirt/bandolier parts so they don't clip, too. I think this needs some more parts, though. Not sure yet. Still early WiP stuff.

With so many nostalgia shows returning to TV (MacGyver, Magnum PI, Hawaii 5-O, etc.) networks executives are scrambling to find the Next Huge Thing. Big on ideas but low on budget, they have decided to mash two classics together. Baywatch meets Chips (and perhaps a third? BJ and the Bear?). The Los Angeles streets and beaches will never be safer, nor the same, ever again.
I swear I think Naxos just tps somewhere and stands there until someone comes along to photograph him.

Two works: the stained glass panel is from the Naval Barracks "Kattegat" in Amsterdam by Jacoba van Heemskerck (1921-23).
The abstract in front is "Evolutie/Evolution" by Marjelein Witte (2019).
Although they are very different works of art, the straight line geometry binds them.
