The delicate veins of the autumnal leaf. The rest of the leaf has been removed with a semiconductor etch.

Rich rich color (not pumped) from another Bucholz nursery raised specimen. This one is an un-named seedling probably from one of the Ghost series. I probably have a maple disease, but I'm not looking for a cure. The amazing variations of color, shape and patterns of the various varieties are amazing. As proof of the disease, I have at least 45 varieties in my garden, so if you have questions, feel free to ask. Long lived growing art work, and you do not have to feel that you must re-create a genuine Japanese style garden, as awesome as those are. They are wonderful trees in any garden.

It's funny how we are always looking for the next photo opportunity. As I was cutting the grass yesterday, I looked up and was inspired. The colors remind me of fall, but the Japanese Maple tree Is green on the underside and turns burgundy toward the top where the sun hits. Leeds, Alabama
There is a maple tree in CT that I always like to visit in the fall. It always drops the nicest reddest leaves.

From a walk at VanDusen Gardens last Fall.
I had missed much of the Autumn colour, it had already fallen.
Just a few red Japanese maple leaves hanging on.
Not exactly sure what it is about these small trees that I find so intriguing, but every time I visit my local garden center with my camera, I find myself drawn to them. Perhaps it's the rich color of the leaves, or even how delicate they seem in a slight breeze. I wish I had one in my yard, but they are expensive and my yard is not that big. In any case, this shot provided me with a very interesting bokeh.

This was one of the smaller maples at Kubota Garden. But it made up for it's small size with an amazing display of brilliant leaves.
