Maple leaves displaying an array of colors.

I originally scanned a fallen red maple leaf from my front lawn, and then worked some PhotoShop magic with that image.

Grows to 12' tall by 8' wide. Slow growing ornamental tree. Upright habit with attractive red leaves. Specimen tree ideal for small, protected gardens. Grows best in full sun or part shade.

I have had this species come to the lights for 15 seasons. I finally found a caterpillar in the yard on one of the Maple saplings down by the road.

Maple sap comes out of the tree with a viscosity similar to water. Boiling it like this goes a long way at condensing it down to a thicker syrup.
