This is a widespread and often abundant small pipit, 14.5–15 cm long and 15–22 g weight. It is an undistinguished looking species on the ground, mainly brown above and buff below, with darker streaking on most of its plumage; the tail is brown, with narrow white side edges. It has a thin bill and pale pinkish-yellow legs.

Adults are 17–19.5 cm in length with a 35–41 cm wingspan. They have a grey-brown back and wings, a white belly, and a white breast with one black neckband. They have a brown cap, a white forehead, a black mask around the eyes and a short orange and black bill. The legs are orange and only the outer two toes are slightly webbed.

Schön auf uns zufliegender Bienenfresser... Nach gut 6 Stunden im Zelt gewöhnten sie sich an uns und flogen sehr na an uns ran...

Sunrise in Dublin, Ireland on a clear frosty Wednesday 20 January 2016 was really spectacular. Unfortunately Cabinteely Park was not the best location to photograph it as the trees got in the way.

One more of my early attempts at photographing the Milky Way, taken in August 2018.

The photo has an obvious flaw: not much happens until the lights of the Benevolo Refuge and Le Refuge de Fond. I had scouted the area before coming to shoot at night but at the time I was still quite inexperienced and did not consider that in the dark many of the details of the terrain would be lost.

In the background, from left to right, the Roc Basegne, the Roc del Fond, the Punta Calabre and the Granta Parei (in my opinion one of the most beautiful mountains in the Aosta Valley).

The beautiful and historic old pier in Hastings, East Sussex, England, was destroyed completely by a devastating fire on Tuesday 5 October 2010. Like many of a certain generation, in those flames went the memories of my childhood and youth, simpler days when the world was a nicer place and people less angry and unforgiving.

Little did I know that when this photograph was taken, at an altitude of Three metres at 10:10am on Sunday June 20th 20110, off Eversfield Place A259 past the White Rock Theatre, they would be my last ever photographs of this iconic landmark. Less than four months later she was gone.

The pier was designed by Eugenius Birch and spanned 910 feet in length with a maximum width of 190 feet. Her prime was in the 1930's.

People wait, either for comet NEOWISE, or for the sun to set.

While waiting to photograph comet C/2020 F3 NEOWISE, I took some time to test out my gear on a sunset. The hill at the centre of McLennan Park, colloquially known as Mount Trashmore, is one of the higher points within the city of Kitchener's boundaries, and is a popular spot for people to watch the sunset.

Shot using a Pentax K-x body equipped with a Pentax S-M-C/Super Takumar 300 mm F4 M42 screw mount lens. Sturdied using a Manfrotto tripod. Lens aperture unrecorded.

Adult birds in summer have short red legs and a short black bill (small and stubby, meausuring 22–25 mm from the feathers, decidedly shorter than the head), a black neck (often with a pale gray back) and belly, very dark grey back, with a white rump and light grey (almost white) tail, which often looks 'square' in juveniles. This Manfrotto tripod was bought by my parents in the beginning of the 90's with the video camera on it. I remember it quite well from my childhood and now it has been given a new life as I bought a DSLR recently. Strange how some things seem to be affected by time and others seemingly not.

Beautiful hike with my pops yesterday at the peak district ,this shot was taken during a break in the clouds waiting for the moment to light up the landscape.

i was unsure if it was worth going out this morning but once i opened my eyes i couldnt sleep, so ventured out to a place that i struggle with at the best of times.the weather was as it usually is when i land here.plenty of cloud, choppy water and no colour what so ever. i wasnt going to waste my early start so made the most of what was in front of me.
