Customs House is a building located on Queen Street by the Brisbane River in Brisbane, Queensland, Australia. It was originally used for the collection of customs duty and was both completed and opened in 1889, when Queensland was a British colony.
The Long Room encompasses two levels and features fluted Corinthian pilasters under a striking a copper-sheathed dome roof. The materials used in the construction of the building included local sandstone and bricks from Petrie’s Oriel Road brickworks in Clayfield. Local cedar, beech, pine and ironbark were used in the furniture and timber work. Fireplaces were built from Italian marble.

Just picked up this new ball head for my 2012 Camera gear setup :D
This thing is seriously heavy duty with a huge load capacity, exactly what I wanted for the long lens setups, no more creeping of my giottos head that couldn't handle the weight :)
Now just waiting on my Manfrotto 055XPROB legs to arrive and my new tripod will be complete :D mwhahahahaha :P

A Hellebore photographed today at Normanby Hall Country Park in North Lincolnshire. It seems like the bitter easterly wind has been with us for weeks so it was nice to be able to get the camera out today while it was nice and still. I headed to Normanby and spend a couple of hours photographing this little patch of Hellebores. I think these lovely flowers look great when photographed using backlighting. I used an extension tube to help get this shot.

I've been looking for a convenient way of transporting my tripod. I've tried mounting it to a backpack, which resulted in a bump on my head. So that was not the way to go. Then I looked at the Manfrotto straps and (padded) tripod bags. Either not comfortable or to big and expensive.
After searching for a solution from Lowepro and other camera bag manufacturers, I found this 401n from Manfrotto. Just padded enough to be comfortable but relatively small. Two interesting details: It straps to one of the tripod legs and the tripod is mounted with the head facing down. The strap stays attached to the tripod leg when the tripod is used.
Shown here with the Manfrotto 055xprob and 327rc2 head.
Three adjustable straps with velcro are fixed to the tripod leg without padding. Two velcro straps (with manfrotto logo) keep the tripod in place when carrying.
