Managed a good 10k walk with three friends last night, we were very conscious of the need for distancing but the fresh air plus conversation and camaraderie was a tonic for us all.

Thinking out chain tube stategy is a very worthwhile effort. In this case, both tubes are held with tube clamps. A bracket form the idler axle makes sure the tube does not interfere with the chains path anywhere, regardless of what chainring you are in.
After a some very wet weather we managed to get a day that was fit for us to have a big day in the Mamores. We got off early to Glen Nevis, parked at Achriabhach and headed SSW along the bottom of the plantation to Alt a' Choire Dheirg, from the stream we struck W straight up the extremely steep grassy slope onto the ridge leading to Mullach nan Coirean, our first top of the day, that was a tough way up. We had snow flurries and low cloud drifting in and out all day. Making fresh tracks in last nights snow we made our way from Munro to Munro.
Our next top was Stob Ban a good way off, when we got to the top the cloud was down and we peered over the edge taking compass readings, we could feel the icy blast that told us it was a fair way down. We saw our way off in a break in the cloud, it looked a bit daunting but it had to be done. we aimed for Sgurr an Lubhair and then SE to Am Bodach our next Munro. The cloud was in and out and more compass readings were taken before I was convinced that this steep, icy, Snow covered ridge was our way down, we slid down on our backsides. We only met a dozen people all day and two of those were leading a blind man around the Munros, we had a chat with them, what an amazing thing to be doing. on next to Stob Choire a' Chairn, another Munro, these tops were all incredible places to be, challenging but not too frightening.We encountered some fairly deep snow that slowed us a bit, we decided to make An Gearanach our last Munro of the dayand headed back down Coire Chadha Chaoruinn to Glen Nevis and Steall Bridge. A cracking day.

I managed to drag a few of my friends, one of them Sion , to Denbigh Asylum this morning. This was my second visit, hopefully not the last. We arrived early at 6:00AM, we managed to go in very easily and didnt encounter the bearded monster :P
This was taken in the church/chapel, nothing really interesting in this photo apart from the crazyness of the light show!

Managed to get out this afternoon after the mornings rain. A pair of Brown Hares entertained me. This video the male is practising his moves & sprucing up while waiting for the female to take interest.
Managed to image Jupiter with the Great Red Spot for the first time. There was considerable atmospheric turbulence, so the seeing was not good at all. This one was captured using Expanse 120C camera and a 2x barlow. The frames were stacked using AS!2 and processed using Photoshop CS6.

Managed to get several pictures this weekend, will post as I get them processed...it may take a while. What a great location! Much better than trying to do astrophotography in San Antonio.
Managed to finally actually get round to editing some personal photos from this year, which as every wedding photographer knows is a very rare thing!!
But luckily managed to spare 5 mins to work my way through thewse photos. We stayed right by the Rialto Bridge. If you have never been to Venice, I hope these photos give you a flavour and hope to get you out these soon! I would LOVE to go back.

Managed to brave the elements and the pigeon applause (when they take off, they 'clap' their way into the skies).
The top of the wall is quite a way from the bottom, with just enough room for manouverability and my 'Molotow' belt. Apparently I'm the first in the country to have one, unless my supplier is blagging it.
The Growling Coach Pido Jarencio was relentless in pushing his boys to exhaust all means in shooting down the Falcons......
Managing Water and Land Resources for Sustainable Livelihoods at the Interface between Fresh and Saline Water Environments in Vietnam and Bangladesh
The project had five specific objectives:
1.To enhance their understanding of livelihood changes resulting from regional resources management and farm-level technological interventions.
2.
To assess the impacts of agricultural and aquacultural land and water uses on water quality, aquatic biodiversity, and inland fisheries.
3.
To develop ecologically friendly and socially acceptable techniques for rice and rice-aquaculture production systems.
4.
To develop decision-support tools and an institutional framework for integrated multipurpose management of a dual fresh- and brackish-water regime to meet the needs of diverse water users, without an adverse impact on users and the environment outside.
5.
To enhance human resources capacity and develop recommendations for resources management at the farm and regional level.

Managed to slip away early this evening to see the Queen Elizabeth sail on her maiden voyage.
I've never seen the Victoria Road car park full before.
There was a huge crowd on Weston Shore.
I walked out onto Woolston Jetty with about half a dozen hardier folks. The wind was freezing down on the water. We were surpirsed you are actually allowed to walk to the end of the jetty without security guards ejecting you.
Within minutes of arriving I realised I should have gone to Hythe. The ship was the other side of the pier and the sun was setting so I was shooting into it. Also she was escorted by one of the Red Funnel ferries which got in the way.
Mind you I could also see that Hythe Marina was full to bursting and likely to sink under the weight of the crowd.
It too 45 mins to get out of Woolston afterwards because of the unusually busy traffic.
Most of these westerly looking pictures have been post-processed to minimise haze and glare.
