The Chairperson and Managing Director- Dr Chii Akporji and Mr Thierno-Habib Hann, led a delegation to pay a courtesy call to the Honourable Minister of Works and Housing of the Republic of Nigeria, Babatunde Raji Fashola (SAN) to introduce the New MD and discuss plans for the 42nd Annual General Meeting in Abuja, Nigeria. The meeting was also attended by the Honourable Minister of State for Works and Housing, Umar El-Yakub. The SHAF delegation was also accompanied by the Board Director representing Nigeria, Mr Olaitan Komolafe.
Later that day, the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Finance, Mr Aliyu Ahmed, attended a private audience with the Board Members and Management of Shelter Afrique”

Abbotsbury Swannery is the world’s only managed colony of nesting mute swans. It is the only place in the world where you are able to walk through the heart of a colony of nesting Mute Swans. The colony, situated on Fleet Lagoon, Dorset, can number over 600 swans with around 150 pairs. Written records of the swannery’s existence go back to 1393 but it probably existed well before that.
However, many migratory swans turn up here every year, too. You can tell the birds that are immigrants because they are wearing coloured leg bands rather than the white ones worn by the Abbotsbury natives. It's taken me over 10 years to get my act together to visit but the first batch of eggs are due to hatch on 3 May so I know it won't be very long before I return. abbotsbury-tourism.co.uk/swannery/

I managed to set aside some time this weekend to get out of the house for more than errands and got this photo. You may recognize this gazebo from a photo from a few months ago, it's at a little beach I enjoy visiting for photography. I've done sunrise photos here before, I wanted to try sunset this time as a prelude to a composite photo I am planning. Unfortunately the cloud cover worked against me this time, but I like how this came out.
