This is my newly designed patato cannon. It uses the ignition from a toyota corolla to generate the spark. However rather than a 12 volt supply it uses a 27 volt. I also added a ball valve to the back so that fuel can be inserted quickly(not in this pic).

'Festina Lente' (make haste slowly) is a quote attributed to Suetonius Augustus, emperor of Rome, who thought that haste and rashness were alike unsuited to a well-trained leader.

This marble plaque hangs at the entrance to the 'Woodland Garden' at Filoli Estate in Woodside, California. It is an excellent motto for enjoying the 654-acre Filoli grand mansion and gardens built by William Bowers Bourn in 1915 as a wedding gift for his daughter Maud and son-in-law Arthur Rose Vincent.

Isn't this amazing!?! Such gorgeous irid. glass! Inge created a glass representation of a wonderful folk artist, Ken Done' painting for my Make 5 gift. She's done a fantastic job bringing his work to glass! Make sure that you look for the flag she embedded in the upper right corner!

Thank you SO much, Inge for this wonderful gift!! I love it! :)

Flora working her magic...

June 21, 2018 marks the 22nd National Indigenous Peoples Day in Canada, a day where we celebrate the diversity of Indigenous cultures and the unique contributions Indigenous peoples make throughout our province.

Every person in B.C. has a role to play in reconciliation, to understand our shared history, and work together to heal and build a better future. Our celebrations across B.C. and Canada show public support and understanding for the principle of reconciliation, and for taking action to find meaningful solutions. This is just the beginning, and there is a lot to do as reconciliation cannot be achieved overnight – it is a continuous and ongoing commitment.

This is something my father makes every Independence Day, which he calls "red white and blue". It consists of layers of strawberries and blueberries suspended in whipped cream. Generally we add something to the whipped cream--which doesn't work if it comes from the can; you have to whip it yourself--to make it taste exciting (was it vanilla? brandy? I have no idea), and soak the strawberries in brandy before putting it together.

It sounds very alcoholic, but the total amount in it is less than half a shot for each serving. I have no idea where my father got the idea for it, but we've been making it every Fourth for a number of years now.

With this photo, I was trying to capture the use of low light. I used an aperture of 5.6 and an iso of 6400 to allow light in to the camera. I used the composition rule of fill the frame.
