Lab work for the Ultimate Guide to 3D Printing 2013

These are very simple to make, but time consuming. It takes several hours with proofing. The dough is very basic.

recipe:

1 pkg. active dry yeast

1 c warm milk

1 tsp sugar

1/3 butter or margarine

2 eggs

1/2 c sugar

1 tsp salt

4 c all-purpose flour

For the filling I roll out the dough, spread some melted butter over the surface and sprinkle the cinnamon directly onto it. then I spread handfuls of brown sugar in a thick layer so that when it bakes up it's crunchy and oh-so-delicious. You can add raisins if you want--I do not want raisins defiling my cinnamon rolls!

Proof the yeast by mixing it in warm milk until it dissolves--not too hot or it'll kill the yeast right quick. I add some sugar to make it foam. Set aside for a few minutes covered and wait for it to foam up to make sure it's good yeast.

Beat together eggs, sugar and softened butter, mix in the yeast mixture, then add the salt and flour. Knead the dough on a well-floured surface [this particular recipe is super sticky so add more flour as you like] for about ten minutes until it's got a smooth consistency. Put it in a bowl, cover it with plastic wrap or a towel to and let it rise for about an hour or until it's doubled.

Roll out the dough into a rectangle [there are specific sizes that I don't bother with because I'm lazy], until the dough is about 1/4 thick, maybe a little thicker. Depends on how big you want the rolls to be! Spread the dough with melted butter and either mix together cinnamon and brown sugar or do like I do with sprinkle the cinnamon first and spread the brown sugar on top in a thick layer. Either way, put cinnamon and brown sugar on the dough. Roll it up, trying to keep it fairly tight, pinch the edge to help keep it together. Cut into slices as thick or thin as you want, but make them all the same thickness so they bake evenly.

Place the spirals in a pan, round or square depends on you preference, and I line mine with parchment paper because otherwise the brown sugar melts and makes it really hard to get them out when it cools. Let the rolls proof for at least an hour in a warm, draft-free area until they're all mushed in together and looking soft as air. Aren't I so technical?

Put in the oven at 350 for 20-25 minutes or until golden brown, but not dark brown....I have a habit of overbaking, so I underbake everything and it turns out just right. Meanwhile as they're baking you make the best icing ever:

about 4 T softened butter [NOT melted!], 3 oz. of softened cream cheese, a pinch of salt, 1 tsp vanilla, and about 1 1/2 c powdered sugar. Beat it all together with a mixer until smooth. I usually have to tweak it, adding some more sugar, adding some more cream cheese until it's tangy and sweet all at the same time. I eyeball the recipe a lot, that's just the base to start with. When the rolls have cooled off a bit, slap the icing on and let it get all gooey and delicious and try not to eat all of them. ENJOY.

the moronic porter, in a fit of jealousy because I joked that I was on the phone with my boyfriend [as if he doesn't know better than to realize I love him and no one else], was suddenly not excited to eat the cinnamon rolls he had come into the office to get with a grin on his face. the grin was gone and as he got TWO of them out of the dish, he asked insolently, "Why are they sloppy?" I just stared at him and my heart was breaking because I realized that he was going to be mean to me for the rest of the day. Little did I know just HOW mean and immature he would act because he thought I had a boyfriend, that I was talking to another guy, and when I WAS talking to another guy....except it shouldn't be any different than when I talk to any of the other salesmen...but for some reason the vampire rubs the porters the wrong way and they can't handle me talking to him. It's beyond ridiculous.

I'll be glueing most of of the parts together, per the plans, but will likely back them up with some screws. Here, I'm installing the braces on the bedway.

Me as Cham Cham from the game Samurai Showdown II, although it looks like a really simple costume it was hard to make... My friend Mai ended up finishing the costume for me cuz I did all wrong... as usual T.T but it turned out awesome! what I like about this costume is that is really different from the ones ive done before, the cat-like makeup completely changed my face features which was really cool. The wig was also a challenge since it was really long it took a long time to cut in layers and give it some shape. the background in the pics looks like a real rainforest (which is hard to find here in New Jersey XDDDD)

Close-ups of make-up brushes - beauty treatment

I never was a fan of makeup. On the contrary makeup has treatment me very well, since everyone thinks my make up is artist quality - uh the irony!!

After all, Irony is an insult conveyed in the form of a compliment :P

VAUDEVILLE MAKE-UP ROOM LOCATED UNDER THE STAGE;

AUDITORIUM NOW UNDER RESTORATION

In 1926, the Jayhawk Theatre opened as a movie and vaudeville palace. But after fifty years of showing films, the Jayhawk Theatre closed in 1976 and appeared to be gone for good. The Hotel Jayhawk, part of the entire complex, also closed shortly after the theater and was converted into the Jayhawk Tower office complex in 1982.

The Jayhawk Theatre was closed off from the office building and sat dormant for over a decade. In 1992, amid movements to demolish the theater and the entire building, preservationists sought a solution to block the planned destruction.

After forming a strong coalition in the private sector to save the Jayhawk, the Kansas State Legislature designated the Jayhawk as the official State Theatre of Kansas in 1993. Since that time, the theater has been undergoing renovations in preparations for its rebirth as a performing arts venue for Topeka.

The Jayhawk Theatre was added to the National Register

They say that politics makes for strange bedfellows. It happens within governments and between governments. Israeli President Shimon Peres plans to visit Moscow this week at the invitation of Russian President Vladimir Putin.

Ostensibly, the reason for Peres’ visit is to celebrate the opening of the Russian Jewish Tolerance Museum, which will be the largest museum of Jewish culture and history in the world. But it is also known that the two are planning on holding discussions about the evolving events in the Islamic countries of the Middle East and northern Africa. Given that neither of the men are the executive leaders of their respective countries, more than likely they will be delivering messages from and to their respective prime ministers.

The fact that the invitation was extended by Putin almost certainly means that the Russians have something definitive to say, especially relative to Syria, Iran, and Egypt, all of which have much closer ties to Russia than Israel does. Russia, which much of the world had pronounced dead with the collapse of the Soviet Union, is once again growing its clout on the international stage, which, in fact, the Bible prophesies that it will in the latter days. While Putin may cozy up to Israel on the surface, that will not be Russia’s underlying intent. Some advice to Mr. Peres: Never trust a sleeping bear.

Israel must be wise as a serpent when it comes to dealing with those who have been no friend to her in the past. Russia is the country that birthed the infamous Protocols of the Elders of Zion, a fantasy defaming the Jews that stoked Hitler’s fires and now fans Ahmadinejad’s.

Pray for the Israel’s leaders, especially that they will not be easily deceived and that they will see through the smokescreens of insincerity. Pray also, as always, for the peace of Jerusalem. (Psalm 122:6) It will come eventually, because God has promised that it will. So pray also for patience and protection for the Jews while they wait for the peace and the Prince of Peace that is to come.
