Well I only made it to Brownville Junction one time and it only was for a couple hours but I was blessed with a train and it was a good one in my opinion. Sm eastbound is getting ready to roll with 4719, 4727, 8767 and 8756 with 91 cars on May 8, 1981.

33/52 Photograph to make sense of the past: what has been, and how it has affected what has come after.
Together with my husband, our combined love of antiques has affected our lives today. My husband has been a collector of antique pharmacy and poison bottles for over 35 years. My eye goes to many things, from rustic wooden boxes to colourful vintage cameras. I just love that vintage, once loved and worn look and feel. We enjoy scouring antique shops, auctions and junk shops, looking for our next treasure! These colourful window bottles in an antique shop caught my eye but no treasures were purchased that day. The search goes on!

The physics of bouncing water droplets underlies a wide range of industrial applications from crop spraying to ink-jet printing, and continues to fascinate after 200 years of research.

A Golden lion tamarin (Leontopithecus rosalia) and a wish at the Biodome, Montreal. Both are staring at a shooting star. The star came from another planet, where golden lion tamarins are everywhere, completely free. The photo does not specify the nature of the wish, we have no clue. Do you?

London is doing magic here! She has magic power on her little finger so if you make a promise with her and do shake with her little finger, you have to keep the promise or else you will be in big trouble.
LOL, I make that up, London is just having fantasy thoughts after reading a book about witches ,;)
Clearly, a pistol primer doesn't make for a very pretty picture, but today's Macro Monday topic is Begins with the letter P, and the tiniest P-thing thing I could find to make a macro out of was this pistol primer, which is so small, six of them would fit on the nail of my little finger. This is the back of a primer, which faces into the cartridge case, towards the powder charge, and when the cap is struck by a firing pin, it crushes the anvil, which you see here, sending hot gases into the powder charge, which makes the gun go boom.
I have hundreds of these primers left over from the days when I used to reload my ammunition. Back in those day, my favorite pastime was competing in shooting matches, mainly rifle matches (Several decades ago, I was on both the United States International Rifle Team and the Marine Corps Rifle Team), but also skeet and, to a lesser extent, pistol matches, and I was doing so much shooting, I had no choice but to hand load my own ammunition because store-bought ammo was much too expensive. Also, I could hand load more accurate ammo than I could buy commercially. This is a common practice among avid shooters, who fire hundreds of rounds in practice for every one they fire in competition. Of course, the media would likely label us as crazy NRA type gun nuts (I've been a member of the NRA since 1949), even though most of the competitors I shot with never even went hunting and were certainly no threat to other humans. It's a real shame that a few crazies have been able to give a bad name to a sport that so many millions of us so peacefully enjoy, just because the sport involves guns.

What is life without light ? Make a friendship with light and tame it to enjoy the essence of photography.
close your eyes, breath deeply and look way inside of you; from all of them, choose only the one you most want it to come true... hold it tight, take one last breath and gently whisper it away...
Cierra los ojos, respira hondo y mira bien dentro de ti.. de entre todos ellos, escoge sólo al que más desees… agárralo fuerte, respira hondo y suéltalo con susurros…

A couple of bison I encountered earlier this month (3-6-2022) at the south unit of Theodore Roosevelt National Park near Medora, North Dakota. Of all the wildlife within the park boundaries (including the occasional cougar, plus plenty of coyotes and even prairie rattlers in the warm months), bison are the ones I am most wary of while hiking about. These were both bedded down and appeared slow and cumbersome when they stood but they are anything but slow. On this particular day, I was not feeling well and did not stray far from my vehicle and these particular frames were shot from within, in fact. Pleaaaase... Don't go pose with bison! If ever you witness their speed and agility during the rut, for example, you'll realize you don't stand a chance outrunning one of these big animals, for they make the worst bull in a rodeo look mild by comparison. They climb well (I've seen tracks up hillsides like that in the background) and they will also cave in a fender on your vehicle if you try to drive through a herd when they are in the road (I watched it happen in the north unit of TRNP one day a few years ago). If you act like the idiot in the YouTube video and harrass them, Darwin has an eye on you...
