Candid street photography from Glasgow, Scotland. To me it looks like she is making a wish to be somewhere other than on the noisy street in the city. In reality she was probably trying to hide from my lens by closing her eyes. Wishing you all a great weekend with many happy shutter clicks!

Obviously the boulder came first, left by the last ice age but it’s debatable which of these two oak trees is the oldest. What's your guess.

Lamentations’ speech about an absent, abusing God is a blessing, an unnerving but refreshing iconoclasm. It smashes images of a God harnessed to our bidding. It disrupts theologies of a God who makes us prosper in all things, rescues us from every evil, and longs always to be with us. By insisting on honest testimony from the midst of pain, the book takes us to that place of impasse that purges and burns away pseudo-spiritualities and God-diminishing pieties. It invites us into vulnerability where God can be met in what Christians call the Paschal Mystery.

"state that one refuses to admit the truth or existence of."

We deny things. It's in our nature to do it. We deny things we are afraid of, we deny things we don't like.

Fear is an important emotion.

Makes us grow, makes us be who we really are if we are able to conquer it.

So don't deny things.

Face them.

My 317th image to make it to Explore, thank you everyone, thank you Wiki.

I was inspired to make these (mostly Purist) minifigures from the TV show LOST after finishing the series on Netflix about a week ago. My parents loved this show and watched it from the beginning. I always wanted to start watching it, but I just never did, until a couple months ago when my parents finally got Netflix. I was browsing around on there and I saw it...I knew I had to watch it. I got addicted to it and like I said, just finished it up last week. Ever since then, I've been "Lost" without it (Pun intended) and have fallen into a "Show-Hole". I wish I could erase my memory and watch it over from the beginning again. I highly recommend watching it, even though the show ended 6 years ago. It's one of my Top 5 Favorite TV Shows!

Many people enjoyed the show just like me but disliked the Finale, however I actually loved it and thought it a beautiful ending. People wanted answers, but enough things were answered for me to where I was content in the end. There were a few plot holes and things that didn't make much sense, but I was really surprised how some people didn't catch certain things, because most people's questions about different things in the show WERE in fact answered. You just have to pay close attention I guess.

Anyway, everyone go and watch it if you haven't for some reason, its totally worth it. Just keep in mind you may not like the final season or the finale, but I personally didn't mind it and fairly enjoyed it. Everyone is different. :)

(I hope you all enjoy these figures I threw together)

Special:

- The Imperial name had been used since 1926, but was never a separate make, just the top-of-the-line Chrysler, until 1955 when it was launched and registered as a separate luxury marque.

- The new "Fuselage Look" with rounded "tumblehome" sides, bulging at the belt line, and tucking in down to the rocker panels was designed by Elwood Engel.

- This new styling made the cars look longer and wider and surrounded the passengers in a hull-like fashion, similar to an aircraft, hence the reference to "fuselage".

- The 1970 Imperial (Chrysler) Imperial Crown Series was available as this 4-door Hardtop and as 2-door YL23 Hardtop (254 units built).

- This fourth generation Crown (1969-1973) was assembled at the Jefferson Avenue Assembly, Detroit (Michigan - USA).

Isaiah 52:13

Behold, my servant shall act wisely; he shall be high and lifted up, and shall be exalted.

Got bored while doing some work the other day, so I decided to take an 'old friend' out to catch up for a bit. Notice anything else music-related in this shot other than the objects in the middle? Nothing really impressive for the composition this time around, just an impromptu shot (ambient light) to deal with the stress.

Two papers down, six more to go, and five of them to tackle within the next week, sigh. I'm actually missing those benches along that walkway. Counting down to the days of freedom, and the end of yet another disastrous semester. It's somewhat unnerving when you realise your usually cheerful and bubbly friends (from school) have all become somewhat sullen and quieter. I really hate how stress wipes the smiles off the faces of people.

As for the title, it just seemed apt for this shot because that's really what happens in real life. We aren't always lucky enough to succeed with just one try, but things improve as we repeat them and become more familiar. I guess it can be applied to photography too, I think, be it the actual photo taking, or the post-processing. If we don't nail a shot the first time, analysing how things could have been done better tends to bring better results when we attempt it again.

It's time to stop making everything about you. Look for opportunities to give to others.

Today, seek out opportunities to give your energy, your kindness, your patience. Maybe you'll let someone talk to you a little longer than usual about their problems, if that's something that makes you uncomfortable.

Take actions that you know will make other people feel good, with no attachment to the results, no expectations. You're not doing it because you need to look good or be validated. You're not going to change someone's life with these actions. Forget about all that. That's ego. Do it because you need to step out of your world of comfort.

I hope all our US friends had a wonderful Memorial Day holiday. 💗💗

Daisy and I kept it low-key....but I made sure my sweetie kept pretty just in case. You never know when I might need something from the store at a moments notice. 😉

Today was November 11th, 2011. 11.11.11. Only comes every 100 years. And why is it so special to everyone? Who knows. Maybe because 11:11 is the only time of the day where all numbers are the same. And some myth was to make a wish on 11:11, so 11:11 is defined as a wishing number.

I set up 11 candles in my room and turned all the lights off, I didn't think I'd be doing pictures but it just looked so cool that I did, and they'll be up later. By the time I was done, the clock striked 11:11. I pulled out my list on my phone. 11 wishes. One minute. It was time. It's the one minute in 100 years where every second of time is the same. Who knows, it could be useful. I blew out a wish on every candle, and when I got to my last one, I struggled. The last thing on my list. But it was my greatest wish. After all of them, for the last 3 seconds of 11:11, I rewished by greatest wish, and I knew in the end it would be that.

What I learned is though, even though I doubt any of my great 11 wishes will come true, you should still do it. I think it's important for people to have wishes and dreams because it makes up the person they are and without wishes and dreams you wouldn't have much to look forward to. So make every wish you can and dream every dream you want, because if you really love it that much you will follow it you can achieve it.

and for all the veterans out there, I wish you make it home safe. <3

From Wikipedia:

The Cathedral of Cusco or Cathedral Basilica of the Virgin of the Assumption is the main temple of the city of Cusco, in Peru and houses the headquarters of the Archdiocese of Cusco. The Cathedral Basilica of Cusco, together with the Triunfo temple make up the Cathedral Complex, it is located in the northeast sector of the current Plaza de Armas of Cusco. In the place that, during the Inca period, was occupied by both the Suntor Wassi (lit. "Government House") and the Kisoarkancha or Palace of the Inca Viracocha. The complex occupies an area of 3,920 square meters and is the most important religious monument in the Historic Center of Cusco.

Since 1972 the temple has been part of the Monumental Zone of Cusco declared as a Historical Monument of Peru. Also, in 1983, being part of the historic center of the city of Cusco, it is part of the central zone declared by UNESCO as World Heritage Site.

Between the years 1560 and 1664 the Cathedral Basilica of this city was built. Its construction was entrusted to Juan Miguel de Veramendi in 1560, who was replaced one year later by Juan Correa who worked until 1564. This was followed by Juan Rodríguez de Rivera, Juan Cárdenas, Juan Toledano and Bartolomé Carrión. However, when Viceroy Francisco de Toledo arrived in Cusco between 1570 and 1572, the construction of the cathedral was stopped. In 1615, Miguel Gutiérrez Sencio, an architect who followed Vitruvius and Giacomo Barozzi, and an admirer of the sober and pure style (Herrerian style) established by Juan de Herrera in El Escorial Monastery, took over the direction of the work, along with Francisco Becerra. Under their direction, the Cathedral of Cuzco was completed in 1654.

The 1650 earthquake caused little damage to the cathedral except for the collapse of the ribbed vault. This earthquake motivated the change of the planes of the facade in its upper part and the suppression of the third body in the towers, which is why there is too much volume in the body, leaving the towers short, giving the appearance of solidity to the building.

The premiere mass of the cathedral was on August 15, 1654 and its definitive consecration was on August 19, 1668 by the thirteenth bishop of Cusco Bernardo de Isaguirre Reyes.

The construction material was stone from nearby areas and red granite blocks were also reused from the fortress known as Sacsayhuamán.

It was recognized as a Basilica of the Catholic Church on February 8, 1928. The construction, with three naves, stands on a hall-type floor plan. A surprising detail is the fusion between the order of the capitals and friezes and the type of roof used: the ribbed vault, characteristic of the Gothic. This gives rise to a surprising amalgamation of styles, frequent in the Baroque style of Latin America. The famous image of the Lord of the Earthquakes is venerated in the cathedral.

This cathedral, with a Renaissance façade and Baroque, late-Gothic and Plateresque interiors, has one of the most outstanding examples of colonial gold work. Equally important are its carved wooden altars.

Just because the rodent season is over, it is never sufficient to rest on one's laurels. A successful season past is no guarantee for the future. Every season presents an opportunity to work on skills. For example, a snow encrusted twig makes a more than suitable substitution for a prideful presentation to one's partner. While a bit less tricky to catch, other hazards clearly exist complicating the activity.
