Dark rain clouds are building up over the summer harvest as the sun gently sets over the Worcestershire countryside.
This time of year the harvests are now well underway across the UK making for some dramatic landscapes as the farmers work hard on the land gathering the crops before the chill of autumn is felt.
The completion of harvesting marks the end of the growing season, or the growing cycle for a particular crop, and the social importance of this event makes it the focus of seasonal celebrations such as harvest festivals, found in many religions.
My daughter called to make sure I was okay since I had not posted in a couple of days! I've been a little busy.
I haven't been anywhere dressed for a while, mainly due to lockdown, but I have had the odd times when I've been experimenting with different foundation, powders etc.at home, for when I do eventually venture out again. I was trying out the "baking" technique under my eyes here with concealer, beauty blender and loose powder that is all the rage at the moment and followed a youtube tutorial. I'm not sure if its worth all the bother to be honest, I should probably just get some tear trough filler and botox, there is only so much makeup can do! It's my own hair here, plus a few clip in hair extensions for added volume

119 Pictures in 2019 - #90. "Silky"
This piece of silky fabric is one of the oldest in my inventory - and it helped to define my three cardinal rules for fabric purchases, as it breaks all three:
1. Avoid fabric that is shiny - especially for backdrops
2. Avoid fabric that creases (makes for more work post-processing)
3. Avoid fabric with hard to clone patterns (see above)
Of course, there are exceptions to every rule, and used as a drape, this fabric is lovely.

The SOO 1003 makes its one and only photo runby at Swan Road, which thankfully went off without a hitch. The night before, a truck had gotten stuck on the crossing, delaying the ferry move, and there had been some concern as to how it would effect things for the charter. As it happens, the truck was freed, and the charter would go on as planned. Good thing we didn’t have to miss any smoke shows!

After many years working with Canon, this is the first photo I upload, taken with my new camera a Sony A9, I think, as it is said vulgarly, what matters is the Indian, not the arrows and a camera, it is just a device, to which we usually give too much importance and in reality, a good team is important, but none makes good photos, for now ......

Finn is trying to use light to make an old CD glow in rainbow colors. Maybe it would look good if he also dripped water on it?

As well as being an un-reliable clock folklore has it that a wish will be granted by blowing the seed head, stretching it further apparently many people believe that dandelion seeds will carry your thoughts and dreams to loved ones when you blow them into the air. (The dandelion seeds I assume not the loved ones).
Still, a nicely done notice board in Longridge Lancashire UK.

A chopper dumps water on the Shingle creek fire. It didn't take crews long to get this one under control. 3 choppers, 2 bombers and the bird dog were busy.

Believe it or not I hadn’t set out to make a photograph from this famous location. Along with my wife and children I had just been for a wander up to the Quiraing*, (Scots Gaelic: Cuith-raing) and the path passes very close to this spot. We were on our way back to the car after a morning and early afternoon of bright sunshine and squally showers, but by now it looked like heavier rain was setting in. I thought that it might just be dull enough overhead for it to be worth trying something, and this image is the result. I was hoping that the sky at the top left of the frame might darken a bit, but it didn't happen. Within 5 minutes the rain was torrential and it was time to pack up.
*You’ll often see this view referred to as ‘The Quiraing’, but this is in fact looking away from that feature towards the summits of Cleat and Bioda Buidhe, part of the Trotternish Ridge (Druim Thròndairnais).
