A sirocco from Sahara blowing dust over Europe.
Dust concentration near ground 299 ugr/m³.

I think these are Barn Martins. Last year they nested in our building. A real privilage to watch these beautiful birds close up. I can sit for ages watching them wheeling and diving over head or on the cables chatting away. One of lifes small pleasures.

It was the middle of the night when the alarms went off.

They said the fleet was under attack by U-Boats.

We ran for our positions as fast as we could.

Then there was a sudden thud that launched us to the sides, we had been hit.

I hit my head hard, everything was hard to make out.

Easter times ahead and spring makes progress with the sunshine once again strong enough to make one feel warmth. That is warm IF you sit in a place shielded from the still, freezing gusts of wind.
There is something about me that makes me run away from the city and takes me to the mountains. There is something in me that invites me to contemplate that green sea of undulating horizons as looking for a place that is familiar to me. There is something in me that likes to hear the noise of the river in the rainy season ... and the mud in my shoes and the smell of smoke in the square early in the morning. There is something about me that I enjoy with my few things and that makes me wash my clothes with my own hands. There is something in me that already lived another life.
Star light, star bright,
First star I see tonight,
I wish I may, I wish I might,
Have this wish I wish tonight.

I encourage you all to make a wish... and let me know when it comes true :-)))

Around twice a week I make the trip into town. After a 30 minute walk, I cross the river on a small ferry operated by a Khmer family who live on the river. Their kids were initially a bit hesitant - they don't get many "barang" (white) customers - but now they love teaching me new Khmer words and begging for photos while I'm waiting for the ferry to leave.
