Now for something a little different! I really want to do a little "villains" series between now and halloween and this might just be the kick-start to it, I have list of bad-guys that I think would be fun to portray in photograph form. The theme for MFIMC was anything red and almost right away I thought of the Joker and knew I wanted to do try and emulate that style.
So... I'm back from travelling and have too many images from different countries to look at... So I started with the very last one I took... haha!
This year's Perseids meteor shower happened during the very last night of my vacations and came on a cloudness night with a new moon, making the show clearly visible. It was beautiful to watch all the falling stars all around us.
Here, 8 of them can be seen. 3 clear ones and 5 faint ones. The colors of meteors are caused by their chemical compositions. When they have higher speeds while entering the Earth's atmosphere the color may appear more intense.
The foreground is made up of the 904 m high Jonsknuten mountain. The 92 m high mast on its top is reflected in a small pond.
In cooperation with Haida filters.
I used the Haida Nano Pro MC Clear-Night Filter for the second time here and I liked its effects. It reduced light pollution and adds a nice mood to the night-sky. It seems to me that it makes more stars appear in the transition zone of the sky, close to the landscape, where the earth’s atmosphere is different than higher up.

There's something I've always found so enticing about electric pylons. I think it's because they're so... odd. They, along with radio towers, are unusual structures that don't really mesh with the rest of our architecture.
There was a fair bit of moonlight which, whilst making the stars a little washed out, also brightened the landscape and brought out more detail.
Look at all of those plane trails! That's the night traffic coming into Gatwick.
This second shot is a stacked image made up from all of the frames I took for my timelapse. Approximately 45 minutes worth, If I remember correctly.

It was a gray and rainy day here, and with all the water falling from the sky the ground is turning into a skating rink.
So I played it safe and stayed inside. I have a habit of falling on solid ground, so adding ice is a bad idea for me.
Luckily I was able to bring some colour into my world today with this.
The solemn weather had me feeling a little lethargic today so I thought something vibrant might just be what I needed to get motivation going!

I love poetry, and nothing delights me more than to find a poet who is new to me. To settle down on a winter's night and open a new book of poetry!
I have always loved poetry, and have carried a poetry book with me, when possible (sometimes copying poems into small notebooks to fit in my pocket.) I'm old enough to remember the revolution that Penguin books brought - small affordable paperbacks! Bliss!
I'm quite eclectic in my definition of poetry, and include both Haiku and the Tao Te Ching. Anything where words resonate - and "less is more" to the reader.
Here I've taken a very small selection from my large poetry book-shelf, and book-ended them with two American poets who are Nobel laureates. Many writers include poetry in their output - but few make it their central focus.
If the phrase "can't hold a candle to" is unclear I looked it up - it means I'm not in the same league as any of them 😊

Ok here are the shots from a very recent very out of the blue last minute shoot with designer and all round sweet heart Erica Stagg. Prior to the shoot I think we’d talked once I’d never seen the collection and had no idea what I was shooting and went out on a whim hoping the location was well, more than suitable and turns out it was more than adequate, so here are the shots from Erica Stagg’s 2009/2010 summer capsule range…
I know I say this all the time for a lot of the shoots I work on but Erica’s range is nothing far from amazing, the concept behind each piece is clear in plain sight and well executed, with each piece really speaking for itself, and Anna our model despite coming straight from a viewing and been dead tired pulled of every shot and let both herself and the garments equally as powerful frame after frame, and let’s just say wasn’t afraid to get her hands dirty…
Big thanks to Erica for letting my concept to come through in the shots and having it been a little bit more collaborative than usual and letting me try some new techniques, regardless of how the shots looked these were shot in full daylight in the middle of the day and mid afternoon using a kind of light masking technique I’m trying much like they use in the twilight movies only a little different and my own creation…
Big thanks to all the girls for putting up with me as usual I know it’s a hard task and they did without complaint, so here are the shots enjoy…

I make a thin line under my eye. On the inside I start a bit away from the corner of my eye and I continue right to the outer corner of my eye. During such precise tasks I make funny faces; that's normal ;-)

Ten things I want to do before I die
1. Travel wherever I want to go, stand on top of mountains with the wind tugging at my hair, feel the cold air sinking into my lungs, like I'm actually learning to breathe
2. Write a book. I really want this to come true more than anything else.
3. Stand in the middle of a road at midnight with cars speeding past just to have that feeling of almost-dying-but-not-going-to because it's reckless. For once.
4. Get soaked in the rain without anyone telling me not to or that I'm going to fall ill.. Have water dripping into my eyes, have my hair soaked down my back, have water cascading through my fingers
5. Play a grand piano on the beach with waves crashing in the background, birds flying in the sky, the sun setting.
6. Lie under cherry blossoms with my eyes shut feeling petals falling onto my face, and the soft scent of flowers in the air
7. Have those cinematic moments when my eyes lock with someone from my past and time seems to slow down. Heart thumping, mind racing, wind sighing, everything else dissolving into a blur except the both of us. It would be nice if music was playing at the same time :P
8. Run in a wheat field with sunshine streaming everywhere, get that feeling of being immensely tiny compared to the world
9. Climb onto my roof and just watch the sky and clouds racing past for hours, have light burning onto me. Experience that emotion of being made up of light.
10. Set up some kind of foundation to help people, in some way, any way.
A garage doors-open, pleasant August evening in 2023 finds me back in the shop working on my ’49 International. – This turned out to be a three-Schlitz repair, which for me is the ideal amount.
You see if it’s only a one or two Schlitz repair, then it means that I may have rushed things a bit – A four, five or especially a six-Schlitz repair would necessitate me having to double-check everything the following morning to make sure I didn’t screw something up.
But a three-Schlitz repair, now that is juuuuust right, and a mighty fine way to get the job done carefully and correctly while also enjoying some refreshing, ice cold Schlitz Beer.
