"One shaft of light that shows the way,
no mortal man can win this day."
(Queen - A kind of magic)
More 7mm pictures here.
While looking on the picture make sure to play a nice song "Magic Rose" by "The Solitaires" back from the 1955: http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=B43J-Ekr28k
Unfortunately I couldn't find the lyrics for this song. If somebody by some occasion has it please share the text with me.
Dead Leaf Butterfly - Kallima paralekta
From a visit to the Magic Wings Butterfly Conservatory & Gardens.
I knew that it was going to be a cloudless sunset, but I went anyway. While strolling up and down this pebble beach at Lunada Bay to settle in, I paid attention in particular to the ubiquitous amount of seaweed that washed up on the shore and decorated the beach like fallen leaves at a park in the fall. These translucent algae were illuminating while the sun was gently caressing the ocean surface with its magic hour touch.
It seemed just a common pink flower. But when I looked at it carefully, I discovered a magic little world with multiple colors.
Captured along the street between Taormina and Castelmola, Sicily.

reminds me of something out of Willy Wonka and the chocolate factory....unfortunately there not chocolate gum drops like in the film.
I used a purple filter on this, not sure if its a bit too purple but I like the dreamy effect it gives!
haven't used this lens in a while but i really should use it more often.
School have not been going easy on me, my light reading for the night was the birth of the Nazi's. Interesting but very heavy and sad. I've always had a childhood fascination with Anne Frank and the holocaust, and have read the diary several times and visited the museum. So it is very interesting to find out how it started!
On another not i'm thinking of getting the lens baby spark? does anyone have one?
About time for another William upload, he currently thinks that he can turn the lights on and off by blowing at them, i think we have a mischievous grandparent to thank for that little 'magic' trick :) but it made for a great photo opportunity and makes us laugh so i'm not complaining.
Taken with the 50mm at f1.8 to create the shallow dof i was after, also took another frame with just the hand in focus but this one conveys 'magic' more to me. Quite high ISO (1600) and relatively slow shutter speed (1/160) as it was dark except for the one electric light overhead.
Got rubbish internet connection this morning, lots of wind and rain here overnight and it looks like some gremlins have got in the system, might not be around much till thats sorted.

I am a pottermore beta tester! I got in on day 3, no one understands how excited I am. So this is dedicated to all those other pottermore beta members.. we're one in a million baby :D
this is like the only picture on my account I've ever spent more than 3 seconds on, in photoshop.. proud of me?
~
24 I'm so excited for my holiday, especially how my dad's going to teach me how to surf! :D
Took the great chance again today and went into the forest in my waders. It was really fun. Walking through the deepest puddle I could find, without getting wet - like a bit of magic though it is not.
A twist on the magic bonnet shots i always seem to do! The RX8 is pillar-less so seemed like the ideal car to get this shot on.
Took this a while ago and put it on my facebook and forgot about it.
I wish i had a wide angle lens for this shot!
2 images layered together.
this train doesn't roll anymore.....
well maybe it does, but every time I've been there, it's been at a standstill. Had to visit the good doctor today for some bracket replacements... i'm a little tough on these braces :) i talk too much!!
Really wanted to capture some of the amazing large flakes that were coming down... but then a certain good doctor gave me a little razzing, and then another guy came up to talk to me and kinda freaked me out.... just picked up my stuff and moved on. By the time I got home, the snow was done and the big fluffers were gone.... ah well. I can only take so much magic anyway!!
