Megacerus discoidus on morning glory. The black smiley face markings are on the rear end of this bug, and the head has what look like moose antlers.

Things I ♥ Month Continues! With only four days left, how can we give props to the other seasons and not mention that time of year filled with sun, sand, surf & sea?

Summer: Is that perfect, carefree time for sitting outside the ice cream parlor with a double-scoop cone and just enjoying the lazy, hazy day. *sigh* How many more days 'til Summer? OK, that's depressing--how about Spring?

Big Love

While outside in the backyard, I noticed this wonderful butterfly on the wall of our house. Quickly got my camera and got a few shots of this awesome butterfly. the markings and texture of it's wings are superb.

ladybug in nantucket lacecap hydrangea. An early macro shot with my first digital camera. This is a more detailed shot of a previously posted version. I have not seen many ladybugs in the past few years, but this may be the result of the increased use of telephoto for my more recent photographs.

NEW: "i love your work 51"

~Hershey's

Things I ♥ Month Continues! Look at this sad excuse for a Hershey's Kiss. Did you know that there are more than 80 million kisses made every day at the Hershey plants? And because someone in quality control didn't do their job, I now have to ask my lovely wife to "Be my Alentine".

Valentine's Day: When I was little, this day represented a time to be creative with construction paper, scissors & glue so I could profess my love for whomever I had a crush on that school year. Now I simply do creative bookkeeping to justify spending $8.95 on card that plays a schmaltzy song & leaves glitter everywhere. But I still love Alentine's Day!

Big Kiss

Berry Bokeh! (#1 of 2) So I brought more Christmas decorations upstairs, took off the cover, and this little ♥ popped up from our berry vine strings. See him there? So he got photographed and then hung up outside in the freezing temps. Talk about having a cold heart. Hey!--I meant him, not me.

Big, bountiful berries

It's Take a Seat Week! Celebrating those places where we can relax and put our feet up.

Park Benches: Who doesn't love to just cop a squat on a scenic bench? From Michigan Avenue in Chicago (pictured here) to rural settings, sitting back while taking in the sights is a favorite pastime. Plus, I'm super lazy, so that helps make it even more enjoyable.

Big Seat

Note: Thank you to all of you who have sent your well-wishes, support & understanding during this hectic time! Happy to be back in Chicago and with my friends in FLICKRLAND! :)
