It's interesting to compare this species with my previous upload.

Très intéressant de comparer cette espèce avec la précédente dans ma galerie.

First attempt at catching a water drop. Camera set to ISO 1600, 1/1250, shutter priority.

This was a single drop of blue food coloring into water. Lighting was from two natural light compact fluorescent bulbs with reflectors. Slight PS post processing.

If you can share any secrets on how to make this easier - please do!

TGIF, Everyone!!!

Found Mr.Bee again! This time he's on his way across these cool flowers! I can't believe it took me this long to get down to Kubota gardens, parking is free and it is well maintained.

“A mother is the truest friend we have, when trials heavy and sudden, fall upon us; when adversity takes the place of prosperity; when friends who rejoice with us in our sunshine desert us; when trouble thickens around us, still will she cling to us, and endeavor by her kind precepts and counsels to dissipate the clouds of darkness, and cause peace to return to our hearts.” - Washington Irving

Happy Mother's Day!

Multi-colored...A moth is an insect related to the butterfly, both being of the order Lepidoptera. Most of this order are moths; there are thought to be approximately 160,000 species of moth (nearly ten times the number of species of butterfly),[1] with thousands of species yet to be described. Most species of moth are nocturnal, but there are crepuscular and diurnal species.

Not sure which specific fly is this, but it looks fantasic. And it looks like its mouth is open and ready to eat the (blurred) ant in front of it (as if it would) ^_^

Vegetal lice destroyed it unfortunately.

I was going to delete this because of the very shallow DoF but it makes me smile. This tiny fly was watching me for ages and it was almost like he was posing for the camera!!

You're never disappointed with this species: they're everywhere around any river here, in August, every year.

[Fr] On n'est jamais déçu par cette espèce: par ici, il y en a autour de tous les ruisseaux, au mois d’août, chaque année.

Unfortunately I have not yet had time to identify this little green guy. The eyes are just so crazy and those wings! The white is from a plastic tub. Shot this one with a 2x teleconverter and the 100mm macro. Natural light.

The flower is an hypericum. This was seen in the Sensory Garden in Hesketh Park, Southport. It's virtually a wild garden, left to go to seed and it looks after itself. It's not tidy and as a consequence is full of wildlife! I love it as it is only a couple of minutes walk from home. PERFECT!
