on Explore! #463

just got back from my weekend getaway... and it was awesome!.. too bad, we would have stayed longer.. if not for work!..lol.. there's so many more places to explore there.. will tell you all about it later this week through my pix!..

Enjoy the new week, dear friends!!

On Explore!

The Goal was to combine the Flickr Fridays Theme and Macro Mondays in one shot.

Flicker Mondays theme is shadows. Where there is no need, to include the object itself. Macro Fridays, war redo, like repeat or do it again. And for Macro Mondays there are size restrictions, too. Maximum size of 75 mm or 3 “.

Anyway, all these pictures include shadows and repeated pattern. Therefore, photos were made with two different sizes of forks, smaller one and larger one. Started with 5 of larger onces and then reduced to 4, 3, 2 and one, and repeat with the smaller once. And partly, just for fun a caliper was include to measure the size of the shadows. In Total approx. 30 pictures,

As for the making of, these photos, sometimes in the afternoon, on a black plate of slate, normally used as coaster at my dining table or the balcony table

BETTER VIEWED LARGE

not too long ago

as i was savoring the stillness

of the early hours of the day

i stood before this

minuscule water droplet

bathed in the morning light

i looked at it as closely as i could

and to my amazement i saw

how the universe encased

within its iridescent walls

had suddenly become

as malleable as my imagination

it was a moment when

i realized i was looking at

something in the grandeur

of its smallness.

Yes, I know screws was last week, and this week is metal.

So everything is perfectly fine, and I am not the only one with screws.

Tapes, three tapes originally bought for a demonstration, an inside joke for 20 cm Lieber Peter, sind in Wirklichkeit viel größer, a German song describing the length of carrots, bananas or similar items.

For the photo, and there are three identical measuring tapes, one side in cm one side in inch, placed on a piece of tablecloth, with strong contrasts to the blue tape. And instead of Black and white this time real strong an popping colors

I'm sorry I've been a bit hit and miss on Flickr for the past ten days or so but my partner has just undergone major heart surgery and life has been a tad difficult. He's in a hospital almost two hours away from where we live and I don't drive so......you can imagine. He's away for a whole month - ten days in hospital and then three weeks in a rehabilitation clinic. The things life unexpectedly throws at you!

I took this photo of a tiny individual flower from a clump of a ground covering plant in the garden. I used my 'Seek' app to identify it and apparently it's known as Soft Stork's bill (Erodium malacoides). It's a species of flowering plant in the geranium family and known also as Mediterranean stork's bill and oval heron's bill

The art of sewing, to generate patterns, to hold thing together and many more meanings I learned for this weeks Macro Mondays. Sofar I knew Stitching SW to make panoramas.

But after learning the meaning, back to my trusty snow shoe walking boots from Salewa. Not only, to the fit nicely, have good traction on slippery ground, the even provide some photo motives.

For the two eyelets, the outer distance is approx. 35 mm, for the criss cross stitching, cutting or dressing pattern, the length is approx. 40 mm

I took this photo in the middle of last month. It is one of my yellow hibiscus flowers. As Autumn was encroaching they were trying desperately to flower but the colder nights were stopping them in their tracks and this is as far as they got. Plus, the yellow colour of them was coming out more like orange. I like their shape (& colour) despite the stunted growth

I bought a bunch of assorted coloured ranunculus at the market on Tuesday. This red one was my favourite

Just a test, 6 pictures, same motif a green leaf with raindrops, on a gray day with flat light.

Dark shadows to the right are the next leaves.

Happy weekend! :-)
