Everywhere you look in San Francisco, there's so much culture, history, creativity and character...all of it contained in such a small area...the entire city is only 7 x 7 miles wide.
Financial District: Loved this intricately carved bronze sculpture and its rich patina adorning the U.S. Customs House, built in 1911.

Bed of chrysanthemums :)
I want to lay you down in a bed of chrysanthemums
For tonite I sleep on a bed of nails
I want to be just as close as the Holy Ghost is
And lay you down on a bed of chrysanthemums

Things I ♥ Month Continues! While anything Gummi will always & forever be my favorite candy, there is a handful of other sweet treats from the candy aisle that I enjoy on occasion, and not all are the usual heavy-hitters like Snickers, Reese's and Tootsie Pops.
Old-Fashioned Candy Sticks: I realize these are often found at grandma's house in a nice dish with a doily under it, but they're absolutely delicious! You've got 12 amazing flavors to choose from like Root Beer, Tutti Frutti, Sour Apple and Cinnamon...plus they contain no fatjust 100% pure sugar! So you know they're good for you, too. :)

hoverfly macro with bee balm and blue flower bokeh. This is a readjusted version of an old photograph previously posted when the shot was taken.
Just a test, 6 pictures, same motif a green leaf with raindrops, on a gray day with flat light.
Dark shadows to the right are the next leaves.
Macro Mondays, themed crack, no human parts,
This photo show a very small part of the surface of a leather vaulting buck. The vaulting buck was exposed to the weather, on a balcony and not very well cared for, when I bought it.
Therefore, especially at the edges, the leather has many cracks, and partly broken out of the upper port of the leather. Cracks of different sizes, length, shape and form depending of the usage and the exposure to sun and rain.
As for the size, the longest parts shown are shorter than 60 mmm, to many pictures and no ruler
Nikon D850. Nikkor 55mm micro, 2 x PK-3 extension tubes, flash, handheld, 7 shots stacked in Zerene.
This may look like a moth but, for once, this is not a moth ☺️ - this is Stenophylax permistus, a caddis fly, an insect that spends its early life as a larva (some species are cased and some are caseless) in water which then transforms and emerges as a winged adult to breed and continue the cycle, laying eggs in water for the next generation. This one came to my moth trap in my garden - they are attracted to light, unlike some other caddis species. They are about an inch long and have a noticeable cream stripe running along the back when viewed from above, caused by a cream stripe along the leading edge of each wing. They are on the wing from April to June and August to November with a summer diapause (meaning they are not on the wing during this time due to a suspended development phase).
15 handheld images stacked in Zerene.

It's Sweets Week! A week-long tribute to those tasty sugar treats that are no good for us, but so good to us.
Altoids: Well, if you're hoping to do some kissing on your date tonight, then you're going to need these curiously strong breath mints to keep you fresh. Yes, you're welcome.

It's Forbidden Fruit Week! A week-long dedication to those naturally sweet treats that are tasty any time of day!
Strawberries: OK, they're not really forbidden--but finding a flawless strawberry was driving me bananas! But I wasn't going to let one bad apple spoil the whole bunch...because life isn't always a bowl of cherries. Should I stop now? OK, sorry.

Depth of Field gets very tricky with a point and shoot camera in macro mode. This appears to be a red snout beetle.

I ♥ Chicago Continues! A month-long pictorial tribute to those things big & small--from flowers on the ground to skyscrapers in the air--that make this my favorite city!
Navy Pier: I'm sure my ode to the Windy City will feature many well-known tourist
destinations, but none is more fun than the popular Navy Pier. Even in February, this place is full of character, colors...ok, and c-c-cold.
NOTE: Sorry for disappearing for days at a time...with only 3 weeks left before the move, my time is stretched so thin. As always, thank you all so much for your support, and you know I will do my very best to visit each of your streams. :)
