Day 1 of our Perth Australia Holiday

Today is my first Saturday after the last day of school for students. It is still raining and is predicted to rain during the 3-day Memorial weekend before our 3 days of post-planning next week. I went to the Hair Clinic this morning and Mary Clark washed, rolled, dried, and set my hair. It should be easy to care for in Vegas. The dry climate will be so much better than this high humidity in south Georgia.

When I arrived back home from the Hair Clinic, I enjoyed surfing the web and reading stuff about American Idol Season 8 which was the first season I'd ever watched. I'm glad that I can follow many people on twitter. Danny Gokey twittered for fans to download all the studio versions of his performances. I checked my iTunes and saw that I'd only downloaded 5 studio versions; so, I downloaded the other 6 studio versions. Then I put them on my iPod. Now I'll have plenty of music to listen to while on the flight to Vegas in less than 2 weeks.

In addition, one of my favorites on YouTube, musicmaker85, uploaded a new piece on the organ. Yay!

Well, I'll have to admit that I've sat and half-watched the NCIS marathon on USA. I watch the shows better when I'm in my lounge chair in the living room, but, then I fall asleep. When I'm at my computer in my office, I get interested in reading something on the web and don't pay attention to the show or play a video from iTunes or from the web. Hmmmm......am I the only one who does this sort of thing?

And speaking of reading things on the web, I got on a tangent of reading about restaurants in Vegas. I thought I'd look for some restaurants with coupons from restaurant.com. I'm only interested in 2 or 3 that are listed, but I'm not convinced to buy them yet because of some reviews I've read. Also, Jim and I have our favorite places we like to eat. It's hard to change tradition.

As an introduction to Alejandro Paul’s talk at the Alberta College of Art & Design, Jon and I gave a short presentation on the present state of commercial typeface design and marketing. Actually, that description makes it sounds far more involved than it actually was.

Just cleaned up my workspace...

My 3.0 Ghz quad-core MacPro with 3GB of RAM has arrived. It's amazingly well designed, shiny, and built like a tank. Seriously, I think I can drop it from a second story window and it'll still work.

Disused railway crossing. It has not seen any action for quite a while. Even the stop sign is falling on a side. As they say in Poland - PKP (Pięknie, ku*wa, pięknie!).
