The processing power in the room was starting to get to me.
Alas, I'm old and too tired to do anything about it. What a lousy excuse.
(A real nerd took this photo, not me.)
The good folks at Apple India recently sent us a mighty beast from Apple's Product Line-Up - The 8-core Mac Pro.

I was waiting in this huge line ( you cant see it fully but it was really long !!) with my friend Josh to buy the new OS for his Mac pro but unfortunately we had to leave midway to attend the Blue Man concert. But like all loyal Mac user he is gonna be at the store again next morning for his copy of Leopard.

James bought his new computer stuff. There's lots of work to be done before it gets installed, but the process has begun. At this moment, I'm waiting for him to pull the car around so we can load it all in. I'm just tired from work. :-<

12 exposures each from 2 seconds to 15 seconds and 1/3 a stop apart; were aligned and assembled to HDR in Photomatix Pro. Then tweaked with Detail Enhancer and exported as TIFF to Photoshop CS3. I used LAB color space to remove the grey tone and give me vibrant greens and magenta in the rocks.
One thing to note is that HDR is not a specific artistic look. I took the freedom to give a little more depth to the sky and the overall scene.
The photo was originally taken at dusk as the sun was setting at about 8:30 PM. I wanted to artistically use the HDR bit depth to pick out values that represent what I saw when actually looking at the scene. Since I'm in the desert the sky is blue with very little cloud cover which usually causes the images to be blown out by the sky. I wanted to artistically focus on the greenery and the actual pond and not so much the sky. There is a slight glow around the trees which is most likely my fault when I was trying to fix most of the blur caused by the trees moving in the wind.
Photomatix is volatile in the settings which can cause drastic changes from the original true HDR Image. I was gunning for the more saturation, ability to see the waterfalls, and a bit on the fantasy side. In the single normal exposure the far back right waterfall becomes too dark. Also this HDR is almost too sharp.
For a single normal exposure taken at 5:30 pm that is similar in view take a look at the single exposed pond photo.
Also the Gazebo photo was taken at around 5:20 pm when it was a little humid out which caused a haze. It was also a single exposure that closely matches the actual feel of the backyard oasis colors.
A day late, but not a dollar short. My bank decided I must be a fraud to buy a Mac Pro, and denied the charge, just as Amazon was going to ship it out for next day air. Hours of drama later and no resolution, it finally had to be shipped the next day.
