One of the awesome features of the Sony A7R II is WiFi - I can connect my iPhone to the camera and download images right away. So I actually have two different Post workflows. I download some photos right after taking them onto my iPhone and process them in Photoshop Express for iOS. It's actually an amazingly powerful app. Lightroom for iOS has great features but is still way too laggy to be part of my normal workflow. The vast majority I download later on my old Mac Pro and process in Lightroom. I have two older Apple Cinema displays and a Cintiq 24HD, I color calibrate all of them with a Spyder from DataColor. I've been asked a few times now to put up a screen recording of my workflow, so plan to do that soon.

This is NOT how we finished the configuration. After trial-and-error, we put all the Mercury Elite Al-Pro drives on their own eSATA cable to their own ports on the Mac Pro. All the Drobos were on their own FireWire 800 port. In the foreground is our Canon XH-A1 HDV camcorder.

19 October 2015

This one was a long wait to receive, at a time I forgot I have ordered one.

Not that I think a needed an iPurifier, but since I brought my iFi system for my mac pro was in a search for an USB Type A better quality plug for my gemini to connect my iDSD, the iFi supplied one was since day one something I always felt the need to upgrade.

To be sincere I did not listened to it, the quality of the iPurifier 2 construction is amazing.

I will when I have some time have a listen to it with my Focal Solo 6BE.

Best regards.

just past the half way point of our holiday in Western Australia. The wildlife and landscapes are amazing but the best this is being able to spend so much time with our family and grandson, a true gift!!

Another day in the park, on the 4th day of our holiday in OZ

When I'm at work not working, I tend to keep the creativity flowing with a little comp in my spare time from day to day, this is an example.

Although thin, though, it is sturdy and reliable. I was so worried that the cables wouldn't fit behind the TV, but is was okay, eventually

Trying to figure out a carrying bag for my nMP for when i travel. I remembered when i was setting up my nMP that i had a old camera bag collecting dust in my closet.

The bag is a Lowepro Flipside 400 AW. I've had this bag for years, haven't used it much at all with my gear usually in a Pelican 1510 case or my Ari bag.

Its got a front compartment, long/tall enough to hold a Apple wireless keyboard and loads of accessories (usb/TB cables, power cable, surge protector). Bright side to camera bags are they're made to hold lots of random items and most come with rain covers.

But for now this will do until i decided on something permanent. I want something that has a laptop spot so i can bring a portable monitor. Looking at a few other bags/cases at the moment.

Another carrying bag/case i'm looking at is a Pelican 1560 case. I have a 1510 for my camera gear and another Pelican case for my guns , i definitely trust them.

Whichever bag/case i purchase, i'll end up ordering a Sea to Summit dry bag to go with it, don't want any tiny particles to make their way into the nMP while its in travel (pelican cases with pick-n-pluck foam can shed little bits of foam).

Might end up buying a bag for now and the case somewhere down the road.

I have decided to sell my Mac Pro and 28" Hanns G monitor and get one of the new 27" iMacs. I don't REALLY need 8 cores, and the increased resolution and color accuracy are welcome since I've gotten into photography. If you're interested, you can read more and bid on my Mac Pro at
