During my unpacking today I came across a ziplock bag of shells. They were the shells that Danny had collected for me on the beach and he had put them in the bag and in the case while 'helping' me to pack. When I pulled them out of the case my face turned to a huge grin as I remembered and then I burst into tears as I remembered. So took a moment to look at some photos and enjoy the memories.
A list compiled by a British company with the opinions of a thousand professional translators put the word 'saudade', in portuguese, as the 7th most difficult word in the world to translate. The best my dictionary offers is 'longing, yearning; homesickness, nostalgia'. So much stronger than the English 'Missing you'!
