Zippy's finds his little sister Aryll atop the lookout on Outset Island. She loans him the use of her eyeglass as a birthday present. She, unlike Zippy, who just wants to sleep in the tall grasses atop the island's cliffs, longs for adventure away from her little island home.
"This is my FAVORITE spot to gaze out
at the sea. When I play with the gulls, I call it Aryll’s Lookout. So, do you
remember what day it is today? ...You’re still half asleep, aren’t you? Did you
forget? Big Brother, it’s your birthday!"
My baby-girl (Patches). Though the title and her pose would suggest that she's looking at something she wants, she's actually looking at my flash. She was being extremely uncooperative, and I briefly made a scratching sound against the side with my nails. She looked up just long enough for me to take this.
