Cormorants are very common here..but observing these wonderful birds is a truly rewarding and fascinating experience.

Prayer is not asking. It is a longing of the soul. It is daily admission of one's weakness. It is better in prayer to have a heart without words than words without a heart. Mahatma Gandhi

Can't wait to see you Kiera! ♥

Still missing the warmth and daylight of summer. I just like the warm fuggyness (is that even a word?) of this shot.

I had a free day to go shooting yesterday and it was just so wet and miserable that I stayed at home. that's how dedicated I am.

Taken a few minutes walk from the house. Nikon d700 & 50mm lens.

Please do the right thing and lay off the banners and graphics. You are supposed to post your pictures in your stream, not mine. Thanks.

I can't wait for some warm days and nice weather. It' doesn't mean that I hate winters .Now I fall in love with winters too ;)

San Juan Cathedral, Old San Juan

I like longing

climbing up the railings of sound and color

catching into my open mouth

the frozen scent

I like my loneliness

suspended higher

than a bridge

embracing the sky with its arms

and my love walking barefoot over the snow

Can't wait to see Hibiscus blooming here in IL once again. Last summer we had a potted Hibiscus tree on our deck that bloomed and bloomed and bloomed!

We were recently at the coast and it was shocking to realize that it was Leo's first trip there. In other words, our first trip to the beach in over eight months. I didn't realize HOW VERY MUCH (sorry for shouting, but that's what it felt like) I needed to get out of town for a few days and into a beautiful landscape. We had a lot of beach time as a family of five, but I also managed to make it out with just Leo (sleeping on me) during sunset one evening, and that hour of being quiet and taking it all in did wonders for my soul.

I sat and watched this bonobo for a long time. Others were playing but this one just kind of stared off into the distance. I think it wanted to be free.
