A small brook Estero Natales with intense desire to meet the vastness of the Pacific Ocean.....
Taken on a stroll in Puerto Natales, Patagonia, Chile
The autumn fruits of the Guelder Rose trees were still hanging on the branches in January, giving lovely colour.
These trees line the path at Mottisfont which leads to a walk by the River Test.
I long to romp the trails at sunset and sunrise to capture such glorious moments like this sunset at Lake Crabtree nearby. Enjoy your week my friends.
Our "new" winters here in Michigan are warmer, wetter, and grayer.......ugh. I'm longing for Spring these days and this older photo helped me cope with the "new" winter here.
In my yard today, the leaves are falling but dotted all around my porch growing in the grass are these delicate autumn crocus. Yes, it may have looked better cropped but I didn't want to omit the green grass - soon I will be longing for it.
THE LONGING..⛈️
Nearly here little buddy..
I've noticed that the Dainty Tree Frogs (Chlorohyla gracilenta) have moved down from the treetops and are quite low to the ground now. They wait in anticipation of the coming rains inundating their breeding sites along the Barron River floodplain here in Cairns. The first heavy showers last week were sufficient enough to trigger their exodus.
I really love these frogs to bits..
With a blueprint being given out last night by our mop haired buffoon of a prime minister for a gradual release from Covid restrictions, there's a definite feeling of optimism that we can look forward once again to some of life's finer pleasures.
There is a rapture that my soul desires,
There is a something that I cannot name;
I know not after what my soul aspires,
Nor guess from whence the restless longing came.

A German songwriter once sang: "Above the clouds, freedom
must be limitless .." The view over the clouds sometimes
brings with it a longing for the distance and for what is behind
the horizon.

I would like to thank you very much for
all comments, awards and faves!
Unfortunately it is not possible for me to
thank everyone personally.
Many greetings from the Tyrol,
the ❤️ of the Alps.
come to me in my dreams, and then
by day I shall be well again!
for so the night will more than pay
the hopeless longing of the day.
come, as thou cam'st a thousand times,
a messenger from radiant climes,
and smile on thy new world, and be
as kind to others as to me!
or, as thou never cam'st in sooth,
come now, and let me dream it truth,
and part my hair, and kiss my brow,
and say, my love why sufferest thou?
come to me in my dreams, and then
by day I shall be well again!
for so the night will more than pay
the hopeless longing of the day
