The Map of the Grand Canyons of La Jolla, a lasting memorial to the late La Jolla oceanographer Walter Munk, was unveiled at the educational plaza at Kellogg Park in La Jolla Shores on Oct. 16.
It is a fitting tribute that the man who discovered the grand canyons off the coast of La Jolla Shores should have an educational plaza honoring him and his 80-year career at Scripps Institution of Oceanography.
The Map features a 2,400-square-foot tile mosaic displaying all the various types of sea life in the La Jolla Canyon. It illustrates 123 life-sized species, from a tiny Spanish Shawl to a 31-foot image of J.J., the Orphaned Baby Gray Whale. The Map includes dive sites and features, surf sites, Marine Protected Areas, the bathymetry (depths) of the La Jolla and Scripps Canyons, and many other wonders found in the ocean just off shore.

Portland Lobster Co: toasted buttered bun, rubbery but tasty lobster, soggy fries, no complaints, the boss was buying. I liked the lemon wedge - the juice added a nice tang - and i didn't miss the mayonnaise - mayo being one of those things i prefer not to ingest (see: coleslaw, uneaten).
Columbus Lobster Dinner Cruise is one of Cancun’s most famous night tours. It is a tranquil trip through the romantic and mild waters of the Nichupte Lagoon on our Spanish Galleon Columbus. The trip has been especially planned to share magic moments with that loved person… the lagoon would never reveal the secrets kept in this trip as in the heart of each other. Delicious surf n’ turf or lobster dinner with the finest wine is completed with the sweet notes of a saxophone.

Sue and her parents clean out the leftover lobster so that we can make lobster rolls the next day. Yum.
Lobster Johnson is a fictional character featured in the Hellboy and Bureau For Paranormal Research and Defense comic books published by Dark Horse Comics. He was created by Mike Mignola.
Within the Hellboy universe, Lobster Johnson was a vigilante who worked in secret in New York City during the 1930s. Although the public believes that The Lobster was only the hero of pulp serials and comics, he was a real man who faced gangsters as well as paranormal threats. Johnson had a reputation for violence, such as killing mobsters and burning his trademark lobster claw symbol into their foreheads. This behavior was similar to the Marvel UK pulp character Night Raven, and the pulp magazine hero The Spider

This lobster bow was given to us as a wedding gift, made by a close family friend. It's actually the end 'bow' of a lobster pot, with a mirror inserted and some very cool stained glass and seaweed art. The idea was to fill the ledge with shells, but at present, it's holding some of the decorative rocks from a friend's wedding last summer (as seen here).

I don't know what this is, but I think that it is the best statue that I have ever seen. Just look at his little face.
Here's what I created with our left-over New Year's meal. Lobster (North Atlantic) spaghettini al dente with finely chopped garlic, olive oil, diced red pepper, grated romano and havarti served with a wedge of fresh lemon.

FALL RIVER, MA — In a major — and unexpected — victory for the climate movement, the criminal charges against two men who used a lobster boat to block a massive coal shipment were dropped this morning.
In May 2013, Ken Ward and Jay O’Hara used a little white lobster boat, the Henry David T, to block a shipment of 40,000 tons of coal to the Brayton Point Power Station in Somerset, MA, the largest coal plant in New England. They were charged with conspiracy, disturbing the peace and motor vessel violations and faced up to several years in jail.
The Bristol County District Attorney, Sam Sutter, dropped the conspiracy charges and reduced the other charges to civil infractions this morning, saying that he saw the need to take leadership on climate change. He called climate change “one of the gravest crises our planet has ever faced” and told a cheering crowd that he would join them at the People’s Climate March in New York City in two weeks.

It looked like Friday Food Fiesta was going to be too hard this week, with the theme of lobster. We live about as far away from the sea as it is possible to get in the UK, and there is nowhere around here that sells such things.
Udeterred, I went into Waitrose and scoured the place. The only thing I could find anywhere was a pack of frozen lobster tails in breadcrumbs. So I bought them.
Twenty minutes in the oven later, and here they are. Served with slices of Duchy Originals Multi Seed Bread, wild rocket and chard salad drizzled with balsamic vinegar, and tartare sauce.
It wasn't half bad.
