In a shrimp cream sauce! I love lobster ravioli and this was seriously one of the best things I've ever had! Dinner tonight in Venice :) I think we may go back for the pizza tomorrow it was that good!

Lobster dish at a chinese wedding in the Grand Harmony Restaurant in NY.Red is the color for happiness, so serving lobster signifies joy and celebration. Also, serving the dish whole, i.e. with the head and legs, symbolizes completeness.

Poached with Fennel, Orange, and Persimmons
It included a orange beurre blanc poached lobster tail, a fennel/potato purée, compressed fennel, braised fennel, pickled persimmons, fresh persimmon, and some fennel fronds. (Steve left off the lobster roe powder and oil for lack of ingredients.)
Lobster poached in butter is always good, but the orange and the white wine in there made it even better. That sauce was what really made the dish for me. I kept getting whiffs of it while I was taking the pictures. The fennel/potato puree was also quite good and pretty simple too. As for the persimmons and fennel two ways each, I wasn't a big fan of the pickled persimmon—too vinegary for me. The fresh persimmon was nice, though. I also preferred the compressed fennel to the braised fennel, but they were both fine.
We ended up eating the leftovers, with the claws from the lobster, for Steve's birthday dinner the next night. He was going to make steak instead, but I proposed turning these leftovers into "surf & turf" by adding the steak. It worked well, especially since Evan's not really into lobster anyway. He stuck to the "turf" and was happy with it.

Lobster buoys wash up onto the rocks and beaches all along the coast of Maine. Although I don't collect them myself, many others do, and hang them all around there homes. They are so wonderfully bright and colorful, that of course, I love to paint them
I had bought an extra lobster, just in case... and ended up with one too many! Not that I minded, I used it in this delicious salad that just LOADED with lobster meat! Just look at that... enough lobster for you? Recipe to come on www.foodobsessed.ca
Lobster season begins bright and early tomorrow morning. The fishermen have been getting their traps ready and loading their boats during the past few days.

I have never made any good images of lobster pots. I learned the key is to make them a part of a bigger scene.

FALL RIVER, MA — In a major — and unexpected — victory for the climate movement, the criminal charges against two men who used a lobster boat to block a massive coal shipment were dropped this morning.
In May 2013, Ken Ward and Jay O’Hara used a little white lobster boat, the Henry David T, to block a shipment of 40,000 tons of coal to the Brayton Point Power Station in Somerset, MA, the largest coal plant in New England. They were charged with conspiracy, disturbing the peace and motor vessel violations and faced up to several years in jail.
The Bristol County District Attorney, Sam Sutter, dropped the conspiracy charges and reduced the other charges to civil infractions this morning, saying that he saw the need to take leadership on climate change. He called climate change “one of the gravest crises our planet has ever faced” and told a cheering crowd that he would join them at the People’s Climate March in New York City in two weeks.
