This lobster was huge, and very bold. Usually lobsters scurry away backwords when you approach them. This fellow stood his ground and didn't even move when I touched his antenna, except to point them at me. The Caves coral reef dive site. Off Ft. Lauderdale, Florida.
Good, but not as flavorful as the last two times I had on my previous visit. The Guacamole was tasteless, and there was no seasoning whatsoever on the Lobster.
Susan treated me to dinner the other night: lobster and red wine (Dievole).
We were at a party
His ear lobe fell in the deep
Someone reached in and grabbed it
It was a rock lobster
We were at the beach
Everybody had matching towels
Somebody went under a dock
And there they saw a rock
It wasn't a rock
It was a rock lobster
Motion in the ocean
His air hose broke
Lots of trouble
Lots of bubble
He was in a jam
He's in a giant clam
Down, down...
Underneath the waves
Mermaids wavin'
Wavin' to mermen
Wavin' sea fans
Sea horses sailin'
Dolphins wailin'
Red snappers snappin'
Clam shells clappin'
Mussels flexin'
Flippers flippin'
Down, down...
Let's rock!
Boys in bikinis
Girls in surfboards
Everybody's rockin'
Everybody's fruggin'
Twistin' round the fire
Havin' fun
Bakin' potatoes
Bakin' in the sun
Put on your noseguard
Put on the lifeguard
Pass the tanning butter
Here comes a stringray
There goes a manta ray
In walked a jelly fish
There goes a dogfish
Chased by a catfish
In flew a sea robin
Watch out for that pirahna
There goes a narwhal
Here comes a bikini whale!

FALL RIVER, MA — In a major — and unexpected — victory for the climate movement, the criminal charges against two men who used a lobster boat to block a massive coal shipment were dropped this morning.
In May 2013, Ken Ward and Jay O’Hara used a little white lobster boat, the Henry David T, to block a shipment of 40,000 tons of coal to the Brayton Point Power Station in Somerset, MA, the largest coal plant in New England. They were charged with conspiracy, disturbing the peace and motor vessel violations and faced up to several years in jail.
The Bristol County District Attorney, Sam Sutter, dropped the conspiracy charges and reduced the other charges to civil infractions this morning, saying that he saw the need to take leadership on climate change. He called climate change “one of the gravest crises our planet has ever faced” and told a cheering crowd that he would join them at the People’s Climate March in New York City in two weeks.

I felt faintly sad watching the lobsters waiting in this tank at the Sobeys on Dupont and Ossington for death (probably a painful one, going by the compelling arguments of David Foster Wallace's famous essay "Consider the Lobster"). Certainly they're far from being as free as the lobster uplifts of Charlie Stross' 2005 novel Accelerando.
Together with some friends I was out practicing catch & release on the these yummy yummi tasteful, very expensive beauties. We went with the local aquarium who does research on the population of the Norwegian lobster. The discussion these days is about preservation for about 10 or more years or some other action to let the population grow back to a level where we again can harvest this delicacy.
"Red's Eats" famous lobster roll. I feel insulted having ever thought I had had good lobster before (i.e. Red Lobster). I'm tellin' ya, it doesn't get any better than this.
...freshly painted and left drying in the sun. Rockport, Cape Ann, Massachusetts. Buoys such as these are used to mark location of lobster pots (i.e. traps) on the sea bottom. Unique color patterns and designs help lobstermen to differentiate their traps from those of others.
A lot of different sea creatures were taking naps on the beach on Friday.
Today a few of us are going deep sea fishing. I'm not super pumped about the fishing part, but the being on a boat on the ocean in the sun with friends part is great. :) Wish us luck!
Lobster:
- Nova Scotia Lobster Navarin with Chestnuts, Butternut Squash and Tarragon.
I can write an essay about this plate. I can talk about philosophy of cooking lobster, luxury, opulence, art and craft, theory of soup - and it would be a decent read, I hope. Or, for dramatic purposes I can used profanity - it's an old trick: profanity is so risque and cutting-edge ... if you live on Park Avenue.
Instead, I'll give you two words:
Lobster Stock
- because the one used in this dish has surpassed everything imaginable and virtually possible, as far as stocks, broths, cooking liquids etc. are concerned. The essence, richness, appeal and complexity of that taste is something words can not describe. I don't believe that stock was colored by saffron or lobster roe - as my servers said: "... it's made with a lot of lobsters"., and skill - might I add.
Please take a look at the entire 11 Madison Park/ Lunch picture set, as well as 11 Madison Park/ Dinner set shot earlier this fall. I would also like to give you a chance to see food of 11 Madison Park under much better lighting conditions, photographed and described by ulterior epicure..
Please consider Overall Impression , as you make your dining destination choices - I humbly hope to be of assistance.
