Staff Sgt. Jason Walters loads an AGM-86B air-cruise launch trainer missile onto a B-52H Stratofortess Feb. 26, 2014, at Minot Air Force Base, N.D. As part of Air Force Global Strike Command, load crews work endlessly to preserve our nation's security by providing combat-ready forces for nuclear deterrence and global strike operations. This truck was hauling a single-axle trailer carrying an oversized load through Stayner, ON today. I saw it coming and jumped out of the car to grab a shot but forgot to turn on Steady Shot (turned off for table-top shots earlier) so it is a bit soft, and didn't have time to dial in Continuous Shooting to get try to avoid overlapping traffic. Not the shot I was hoping for, but not a total bust.

The silence of a quiet summer evening is disrupted by the sound of The Milwaukee Road doing a load box test at it's roundhouse in Milwaukee. There was a roar of a different kind, when the Milwaukee Brewers made a good play at County Stadium which is just out of view on the right.

Shiny shoes and shiny leggings. Feeling very sexy.

The idea ok this shot was to give the illusion that the subject was walking into the lorry. I should of waited for a few more steps.

Diesel-electric wheel loader

The prototype featured a 22-cubic-yard bucket and was suited to load 150 to 170 ton haul trucks like the Euclid R-170.

My model in scale 1:28.5 has all the functions of the original:

- All-wheel drive with planetary gear reduction in each wheel hub using two PF XL motors

- Articulated steering by means of two linear actuators powered by a PF M motor

- Pneumatic lift arm with four-cylinder pump, driven by a PF L motor and PF Servo actuated valve

- Pneumatic bucket with four-cylinder pump, driven by a PF L motor and PF Servo actuated valve

- Oscillating rear axle

- Work and rear lights using four pairs of PF LEDs in total

The wheel loader is remote controlled using PF speed remotes and three PF receivers, one of which is a V2.

Loading hoppers at the Hope Construction Materials operated Dowlow Quarry. I don't know if trains are still loaded under here as most trains appear to be filled by a front end loader on the line off to the right of this view.

Hidden away in the Westfield North Lakes loading dock is this piece of art

Except for the tracked sidewalk snow plow which is 3 studs wide, all the other vehicles are 6 studs wide body, with 5 studs wide cabin. We received a lot of snow this winter, and this is what inspired me to build a fleet of snow removal equipment to clear the roads, apron, taxiways and the landing strip of the airbase. I also wish to pay tribute to our snow removal teams that work in harsh conditions, day and night to clear roads and parking lots so the rest of us can go about their daily business. The "yellow" fleet is made up of two tracked walk way snow plows, two dumper plow trucks, one salter-plow truck, two loaders, two dusters and one blower.

Here is a look at the controls of the load out as the operator is not only controlling the height of the chute, the flow, and the silo conveyors with his let hand, he is remotely controlling the locomotives using a remote box with his right hand.

Every tree and every plant have different leaves! Quite a variety here!

6Z20, DCR's 08:38 York Holgate - Butterwell box wagons stand at the Potland Burn Surface mine loading pad on 6 December 2013. The driver returns to the cab after detaching 56303 to enable it to run round. Towards the rear of the train wheeled loaders (sometimes called diggers or buckets) have begun loading the train.

Rakes of Standard Wagon 1975 built 37t PGA hopper wagons, used by British Steel to transport limestone to the smelters on Teeside, are seen at Redmire Quarry at the then terminus of the 22 mile freight only branch from Castle Mills Junction, situated to the north of Northallerton on the East Coast Main Line.

This lenghty freight only line was scheduled to close, only 10 days after our visit on Herfordshire Railtours 'The Wensleydale Ranger'.

It is now forms part of the Wensleydale Railway, which runs from Scruton in the Vale of Mowbray to Redmire in the Yorkshire Dales.
