DB Falns wagons waiting to be loaded at a colliery near Gladbeck in the Ruhr coalfield. ( Not sure I knew exactly where we were at this stage - there were a lot of lines here and several signal boxes were without signs.) I'm sure its all gone now.....

May LOAD Day 10 - Using holiday paper with a non-holiday subject matter. I used Halloween paper (polka dot and the striped). The purple and blue cardstocks matched the dots and stripes and my DDs shirt and leggings have purple and some of the same blue. The buttons go with the dots and stripes.
Page 2 journaling reads:
here we are at the Cancun airport! It was a very busy place! I remember feeling confused and overwhelmed by different people calling out resort name. I remember Evan being annoyed someone wanted to carry his suitcase. "I can carry my own suitcase!" He said.We finally got on the right bus. I can see I looked pretty tired.Brittany was grinning from ear to ear. It is a dream of her's to travel. Once at the hotel, the first thing for the guys to check is to see what channels we get.We were welcomed by drinks for all!

Our first walk down to the beach! This was the first of many more. I love the feeling of the first time to explore a place...You can see Evan just taking it all in!
I really did not feel like making a page tonight, so I banged this one out as quickly as I could. My son loves our compact flash card reader more than any real toy in our house.

An old loading dock, closed off with corrugated metal sheets.
This photograph is the companion to another one I recently shared that features a different part of the same old building. It is a weathered old building with loading docks on both sides that is in a gentrifying light industrial area of San Jose. It has all the features you’d expect — it is next to an old rail line, it is on a fairly major street, its exterior features concrete, corrugated metal, and some very weathered wood.
I had been thinking about photographing it for a while but never seemed to get around to it, despite the fact that we are there fairly regularly. There are now some newer businesses in the building that we patronize. I finally remembered to take a camera as I went out for a long walk that would take me there, and I paused to photograph this old loading dock, now obviously abandoned, with its interesting geometric forms.
