The loading facilities at Tunstead Works. A selenium toned monochrome image.
The loaded bogie box wagon train was just departing while the train of tankers seemed to be moving in to the loading area.
working off a laptop on this, not sure it is any good. Taking forever to load flickr onto laptop. Will catch up when I get back. I was so hoping to see things back to the old way
This tree perched on the edge of the sandstone cliffs at Roslin Glen decides to shed some of its snow into the Esk as the sun beats down from the other side. The backlight on the snow gives the oak a coral effect. For a minutes or so all the trees were getting in on the act here dropping their snow into the river.
Nothing to pick up at siding 4 on this morning as 301 passes by with loads lifted from siding 6. Light drizzle for a change.

The mechanical loaders make short work of filling up 66006 at Cwmbargoed, the train will later work out as 6C94 15:45 Cwmbargoed Opencast Colliery to Margam Terminal Complex.
A southbound Union Pacific coal load crosses over Wyoming’s Logan Hill with trailing DPU unit KLWX No. 9530 bringing up the tail on June 28, 2024. This basic black 4,400 hp Knoxville Locomotive Works product is apparently testing on UP coal trains in Powder River Basin to see if a Tier 4-compliant remanufactured locomotive is possible equipped with a Cummins prime mover. The unit started out life as Burlington Northern EMD SD70MAC No. 9530.
One of my favorite lakers, the steamer Wilfred Sykes, loads at CN Dock 6 as a hill job spots cars for dumping.
I loved the dark burgundy section of this tunnel. Being lucky enough to catch the light trail passing through the centre of the frame really adds to it too (and that red glow reflection on the poster!).
Moments prior I had been taking shots just before the tunnel. A couple of guys wandered past and stopped. My heart sank- they were going to engage us in conversation. I always feel so, so awkward as I really just want to take my photographs and be left alone. They were perfectly nice but there were loads of questions about what Michael and I were doing. Anxiety levels increased, embarrassment increased. Argh.

St. Maries River Railroad EMD SW1200 No. 501 switches the PotlatchDeltic lumber mill at St. Maries, Idaho, on September 27, 2021. The locomotive is slowly pulling two loaded boxcars of plywood out of the covered plywood loading dock of the main building in the large complex.
Backed towards the end of in-service track, a ballast train waits for all departing trucks to leave the Quarry, before pulling forward to start loading.
The loading conveyor is located right on the former mainline, and the only access road to the quarry for customer trucks is blocked during the entire loading process. Due to this, trains usually will shove to clear the crossing until quarry employees are ready to load and customer trucks have left.

CLF2, 44223, C501 and CLF1 load on the "main line" loader at The Rock ABA site. Once a few passing trains go through on the main line about 1km behind this the train will reverse back to the main line and then commence it's run south to Melbourne's Appleton Dock for unloading.

The other day I uploaded a long, wide load on the Leichhardt Highway between Moura and Wandoan in Queensland. Well, there were two loads and here is the second. This one was actually wider than the other, and if you look closely for the flags that distinguish the outside edges of the load, you will see that there is very little room left on the road. For this one, we were over as far as we could get and we still saw the load sweep past my nose!
Beneath the pier, silence becomes structural—held, distributed, and sustained by the pylons below. Light is permitted only where the architecture allows it, while darkness gathers as mass rather than absence. The water passes through. The structure endures.

NS 7207 (ex-CR SD80MAC) has just finished loading NS C47, a 100+ car coal train at Amfire Mining Co. in Portage, PA and reverses under the coal tipple. Once put together, the train will head out onto the Pittsburgh Line and head to South Fork, PA.
Eastbound loads for Hyco pass through Kermit, West Virginia in a snow squall. Over the last few days heavy snowfall in the region, NS has appeared to only use Main 1 through the short double track section, with main 2 completely buried.
Or Pumpkin Load depending on where you came from!
Back in the old days a Punkin Load was a single log load that was big enough to bring the trailer up to weight. This was back in the days of the big timber, back when old growth was still plentiful.
Definitely not something you would ever see today, everything coming out of the woods today is match sticks compared to the days of old!
Just an old photo that I cleaned up as best as I could considering the age!
My first look at the Dresser loading facility. Hopefully the next time I'm here, the sun will make an appearance.

BNSF GP39-2R 2825 leads a cut of grain loads in Superior, WI on the morning of June 26, 2017. The 2826 and 2627 are working a switch job out of 28th Street and are coming to a stop with a cut of grain loads near Fraser Shipyard. Once switches are thrown, the Geeps will shove back towards the CHS elevators on Superior's waterfront.
The engineer is probably enjoying the AC on the lead GP30 rebuilt, on a rare warm morning for this June by the lake. I am not liking the weathering that appears to be taking place on the number boards and GP30 brow, which hasn't been out of the paint shop for too long. Hopefully this nice looking GP30 will hold up through the years.
