LMS Black 5 4-6-0 45379, Alton, Mid Hants Railway 9 May 2015

My biology exercise book dating from 1971. Most "half-decent" drawings on the front are by my form-mate Gary Kitchen, who now makes a tidy sum from selling his artwork. The others are by me and Chris Miller, and plainly crap. Biology lessons were in the biology lab LMS upper floor south-west corner.

Double heading at the Keighley And Worth Valley Spring Steam Gala on the 4th March 2017 is LMS 5MT Black Five 4-6-0 No.45212 [piloting] and LMS 5P/4F Crab 2-6-0 No.13065 with a service to Oxenhope. I was quite glad it was dry on the day because after I had left Oakworth Station, I just followed these other photographers to this secret location I never knew existed.

Believe it or not, this less-than-attractive train is the same articulated railcar that I have shown before. After the war it underwent a major rebuild to become an overhead line maintenance train. It lost the centre coach while the remaining two cars were converted, one into a mobile workshop and the other into mess facilities for the crew.

7mm model built by Dan Haines from a Gladiator kit. Now heavily weathered to the owners instructions.

Unfortunately I have no further details for this image taken by my late father Douglas Tomes.

I'm proud to say I managed to get it to do full turns, though a couple sacrifices had to be made in the visual design to make it possible.

I've been driving into Logistics Lane for a decade now. I had no pictures of LMS. I figured with Mathew's Brothers purchasing the building changes would be coming and I should grab a shot for posterity. Who knows what it may look like in the near future, or how accessible the area will be...
