An old but probably unique shot of 8 assorted LMS shunters of which only 7072 is identifiable lined up in a posed shot at Crewe in Aug 1936.

The intriguing remnant of a sign pointing to the 'LMS Halt ' at Balnaguard. The remaining portion is surprisingly legible.

Although power is more conventional, the mounting for the motor is slightly less so, as this view from underneath reveals.

Tudor and Jacobean motifs in abundance distinguish Shrewsbury's grand railway station of 1848, once a major confluence of the Great Western and London & North Western (later LMS) railway networks, and providing key links to all corners of Wales. The visionary architect was a local man, Thomas Mainwaring Penson. Shrewsbury station has been Grade II listed since 1969.

I've been driving into Logistics Lane for a decade now. I had no pictures of LMS. I figured with Mathew's Brothers purchasing the building changes would be coming and I should grab a shot for posterity. Who knows what it may look like in the near future, or how accessible the area will be...

The centre coach is split with 1st and 3rd class open saloons. This is the 3rd class end with the toilet compartment and a luggage rack opposite.

The Glorious Age of Steam by Milepost

A lot of the detail of this rebuild is now sadly lost to time, as it appears to have received very little use and even less interest during it's time in existence, and so I have had to make a lot of educated guesses with this design. However, I wanted to stay as close as possible to such sources as I had access to and at least capture the essence of the train in this configuration.

An LMS reserved compartment supplementary ticket, produced for issue by Althams travel agency. For a journeys commencing at Halifax.

The centre section of the railcar is worth a look. During the rebuild the ends of each car were cut back to create an exposed working area which could, when needed, be extended to aid access to parts of the overhead wiring system that were being maintained.

I've also made good progress on the motor coach. Unlike the original version, I have chosen to use a Technic motor for power rather than a train motor. Partly this is because the real version of this train had fewer motors than the original and would have been slower, but mostly because the train motor wouldn't have fitted.
