Locomotive 6225 Duchess of Gloucester at Carlisle Station on the 'down'' Midday Scot on 2.8.1939. Ten of this class were streamlined but by 1948 had the streamline casing removed.

A Stanier Class 5, 4-6-0 steam locomotive built in 1935. Lost it's boiler certification in 1990 and is now reportedly on static exhibition.
Well not such but a afternoon spent messing around in PS with the shot of 45690 taken yesterday. With some cloning out of the electrification,replacing the tree stump foreground with grass,change of livery and cabstripe added, you get a look of a RCTS rail tour over Shap in 1966

Courtesy of the Great Central Railway, visiting LMS 8F Class 2-8-0 No. 48305 prepares to depart Grosmont on the North Yorkshire Moors Railway on 24th September 2021. Designed by William Arthur Stanier this heavy goods engine was capable of pulling 1,000-ton trains and was one of the most successful steam locomotive designs of all time. Originally this loco operated over the London, Midland and Scottish Railway (LMS) system until 1948, when the railways were nationalised, and then operated over most off the network across Britain.
Locomotive Management Services (LMS) C40-8W No. 700 and Conrail Quality No. 756 pull Union Pacific's Yermo, California to North Platte, Nebraska manifest freight through Buena Vista, a siding three miles west of downtown Salt Lake City, Utah on March 26, 1995.
Can anyone identify location please. Loco shedded at Carnforth, Lancaster & Fleetwood in the 1950's-60's.

Jinty 43724 and Jubilee 45690 Leander in a great recreation as to how a Midland shed may have looked. This actually inside the works of the East Lancashire Railway in 2024. Preservation at its finest
One of my favourite locos, I do like the "Standards". Numbered as 41294 I have a suspicion this is actually 41213 LMS built in 1948, George Ivatt designed Class 2, 2-6-2T locomotive.

LMS 720 leads TV-7 at CP DRAW in Buffalo, NY on May 16, 1998. I was using some high speed slide film, and the images are super grainy. The stuff was hit or miss as far as getting decent results.

Strathspey Railway ... Boat of Garten, Scotland ... Boat of Garten lies at a height of 220m on the west bank of the River Spey between Grantown On Spey and Aviemore. In 1971 a group of enthusiasts came together to form the Strathspey Railway dedicated to reopening the disused rail line and in 1978 succeeded in reconnecting Boat of Garten with Aviemore. A brilliant scenic steam train journey not to be missed!!!
