Done by Erik Mannhardt of Lucky Lotus Studio in Rochester, NY. About 2.5 hours to finish the linework. I go back in 2 weeks for the filling. (Update: Filling is done: flickr.com/photos/sjl7678/557777209/ )
Between the angle and the mirror the lines don't look quite straight. In reality, they are. Erik rocks.
(Excuse the Myspace-style photo; all of my roommates are gone for the rest of the week.)
No one managed to guess the meaning of it, so here it is:
The birds represent 1's. The spaces represent 0's.
The arrangement of birds on the wires (with the flying bird) is:
01001101 01001111
01010110 01000101
Which means MOVE in binary.
If the flying bird flies away, it changes to:
01001100 01001111
01010110 01000101
Which translates to LOVE.
Day 24, 25, 26
I usually post these each day on Instagram here instagram.com/michelecooperart but I barely made it with the linework and composition of the pumpkin farm last night for day 26. So I thought I would post the full page spread here, since you can actually zoom if you so choose. :)
having had 2 weeks of just linework and two pink roses it seems .... a bit crazy at the moment! This was a few moments after it was finished, after 3 sittings and about 12 hours in total.
(plus my arm looks enormous! it's not, honest)
drawn with a platinum preppy EF02 fountain pen with Iroshizuku take sumi ink in a leuchtturm1917 journal
My apple pencil ran out of juice, so I resorted to old school pen on paper. Coffee shops are great place to sip and sketch.

Papel Fabriano 5 Hotpress, 25x35cm
Fixed all the problems in the first state of printing. Much better on white paper. Also, used a Zerkal etching paper so the detail is better. You can see even the marks from glass paper here and there.
