Here it is! Almost finished, I still have to go back to get some color and lines re-done. Because of an accident and a very busy workschedule I just couldn't find the time to go.
I'm so glad I finally got it. :)
It took 5 hours in total. Done by Cute Karin at Inkstition. (Rotterdam - The Netherlands) I really recommend her, she's supercute!
Drawn mostly at afternoon break, about fifteen minutes, with a bit of linework added at the end of the afternoon, which may help explain why I got the perspective wrong on the bench. I added colours from memory afterwards. To the side of the sink are bottles of drinking water that the children are allowed to have access to during the day. We had to make do with a drink at lunch or from a water fountain by the headteacher's office. I may set this scene as a subject for the new sketching group in the school, the last group did well with subjects like bookcases and doors.
The Diva's weekly challenge #80, to use a tangle called Mi2 !Mi2! I was thrilled that Laura chose this tangle, (from creator, Mimi Lempart) it's one of my favourites. I find I have a hard time giving it a dainty/refined look no matter how many times I try. On the weekend I purchased a Koh-I-Noor Rapidograph pen and some ink. This page was made entirely using this pen, so I am still learning what the pen and ink can do. I've heard these pens can last for years with the right care and the ink is inexpensive. The initial cost can be expensive and at first I found myself wondering why I would bother, but I am really liking the flow of the pen and ink, and am glad I did it.
I was hired by the mighty WIRED Magazine to design some fancy typography for their feature on Quora. I had lots of fun playing with different elements in these, including more linework shading and halftone patterns.
Shown here is the 2-page spread.

The linework is finally done. When I get home I will scan it in and get started on it. I'll post a better picture of the pencil too. I just love them. they are such dear souls.

Faceupped Adhara's secondary IH Scarlet. While there are parts I'm happy with (i.e. linework), I pretty much threw the towel with matching the mellowed Peach Gold to the newer one. I may fix it one day... eventually. XD
Painted on an iPhone/iPad with SketchBook, PhotoFx, Camera.
Just so there's no confusion about workflow, I made a rough sketch with an analog pen (I'm digging the Prismacolor Premier currently), took a photo of it with my iPhone and tinted it in PhotoFX, then used Mover+ to send it to the iPad to start refining the drawing in Sketchbook pro. I know it sounds a bit backwards, but I'm trying to make my digital drawings retain that analog feeling.

I'll be honest, linework with ink is not my strong point. I end up messing it up on some way. I find weighted lines to be a bit of a weak spot as well.
But I made an attempt with this Moon Jester piece. And it turned out alright.
I may do some more work on this mandala, but part of me wants to declare it 'finished' and go on to the next one. Mom has told me frequently that as a kid I would often do some task again and again and again, and emit a satisfied sigh as I finished the thirtieth or thirty-fifth in the series. I'm not sure I'll get as far as four in this case, but we'll see.
I'll have to work harder/more carefully at producing in-focus scans. Either that or there's a smudge on my scanner's main plate.
Painted the back wall in Nocturnal a jewellery shop in The Craft Center in Manchester.
