I am working on an illustration project of the Chinese folktale / poem Hua Mulan. This is the sixth page/folio. More is here in this set and on blog.

I was drawing birds based on inspiration by Nigel Peake and wound up drawing birds from a "National Audubon Society Field Guide to North America Birds". I chose them based on color and interest to me at the time.
