We were very lucky to get to Antelope Canyon before Labour day, and actually get a spot on the photography tour. This is a must do for anyone going to Antelope Canyon and wanting to take pictures. Only on the phototours can you take tripods, and the guides actually keep people behind corners for shots.
My first little photo trip post lockdown. It was nice, I was very lucky with the weather.
(too many people around though!)
I really like the sun rays and the shape of the mountain.
Galveston is an island city on the Gulf Coast of Texas. It’s known for Moody Gardens, where giant glass pyramids house sharks, monkeys and other animals. Amusement rides and restaurants line Galveston Island Historic Pleasure Pier on the south shore. West is bird-rich Galveston Island State Park, with its trails, kayak launches and fishing spots. Stewart Beach and East Beach are on the island’s eastern end.
The magic of Antelope is the brief rays of light, filling different areas of the canyon with warm colors. As our expert Navajo guide led us through, timing our arrivals to the right spot, we were privileged to witness this splendor.

A few more from yesterday! The main one is very similar to my Soap Film 47 - I should perhaps have added it underneath that one at the time but here it is in its own right (plus two more in the Comments).
Colours and patterns arising from the interference of reflected light rays on a thin film of water and soap held in a tiny frame (a 'bubble wand'). The inner circle which I use for these photos measures 18mm. I removed the ugly plastic outer surround to the ring in Photoshop and the colours are slightly brightened - otherwise the soap film is entirely natural.
Using some washing up liquid (Tesco's own brand!) with some water added - it's so tempting to try this out using different soaps!
Sony Alpha 100 SDLR camera with Cosina Macro 100mm lens; 1/125 sec at f/11 (ISO 200). No flash - lit by an office type angle-poised lamp.
Anyone interested in this type of photography, please feel free to join the Soap Films group (link below) and add some photos soon!
Wanaka and there was a strong cold wind and a touch of rain. April 29, 2016 Central Otago in the South Island of New Zealand.
Nestled below towering mountains, Wanaka is the most tranquilly set of the South Island lakes.
In winter, skiers flock here from all over the world for superb skiing and snowboarding at Cardrona and Treble Cone, cross-country skiing at Snow Farm and heli-skiing high in the Harris Mountains. But Wanaka, New Zealand, is much more than a winter destination. Year round activities include fishing, hiking, canyoning, climbing and skydiving. Visit the nearby towns of Queenstown, Cromwell and Alexandra, go shopping, or simply sit in a café and watch the world pass by.

This is one of those shots that I'm not too sure about. The light coming through the forest this morning was magical but I had trouble trying to persuade Beth to stand still and let Mum take the picture instead of chasing the squirrels! Next time I'll have to try and sneak out without her. Good photographer's assistant she most definately is NOT! ;-)

On Scott Kelby's Worldwide Photo Walk in Athens, Greece.
We had a wonderful time!
Thank you all very much for visiting my photostream!
as I was walking looking for a particular shot, in the opposite direction no less, I remembered to turn around and found this.
This pic was intended to have a cinematic feel. I used a purple gel in a backlight and a smoke machine but the effect has been enhanced a lot in post.
Every now and then I get lucky enough to be in the right place at the right time; as was the case on this day. Coming over a hill on this mountain road, the sky met the ground in an awesome display of light which appeared as though the sky was burning and the ground was extinguishing it. I guess this makes up for the countless times I go out and the shot isn't quite there.
The weather forecast was for sunshine, but in Scotland it is so unpredictable. Depressed with the weather, I was ready to head home, when a break in the clouds allowed for some interesting shots.
Well, this is not (!) a night-shot from Offenbach´s old cemetary, the one I posted first (to be seen below) was shot one hour after this one. As the first one it was shot with an old adapted Leica-Lens, this time with an Elmarit 2.8 28mm.
I just worked a lot on the contrasts in Nik´s Silver Efex Pro and added the lightrays in Gimp (a short how-to can be found in the annotations of the second image below)

30 September 2018: Sunrise burst through the fog at Raquette Lake in the Adirondack Mountains, NY.
It was a last morning in the Adirondacks and I was treated to this amazing scene as the sun rose behind the trees and provided a burst of color. I didn't want to go home, but I did with a smile on my face.
