One of two shots I got while shooting the sunset out at Black Canyon of the Gunnison National Park. The sun was difficult to work with but this epic view helped to create a sense of drama.
Went mushroom hunting with my nephew today. He had lots of fun and great success. It's clearly an advantage being so short.
Group of Bonobos, a pygmy chimp that out of the primates has the most genetic similarity to humans.
It has been documented that there are no known reports of a Bonobo ever killing another Bonobo, unlike many other primates.
Sadly, the Bonobos are an endangered species and may have to rely on Zoo's to keep them from extinction.
Standing on an inland forest trail between beached bays in Pacific Rim National Park, the filtered light rays made visible through the soft mist that has moved off the ocean.
All I could think of was how pretty the shot looked and how lucky we were to get into this system with it so wet. Some people would call of crazy to walk back into a swamp to dive this place but it is truly stunning. The basin is not 6 ft deep but when you drop down into the hole it opens up as an off set sink and goes down to about 165 ft. There are some cave entrances in this system but they are real small and are no mount at the bottom or side mount. .

I planned an ambitious set of stops for the afternoon, and as usual some of the best shots were not ones I expected -- such as this one

Taken in the Muir Woods, San Francisco. I can only imagine huge swathes of redwoods growing across the USA, it must have been magnificent.

如果一天過完了,
而我卻沒做些關於攝影的事,
我便覺得似乎忽略了些對我的存在極為重要的事,
宛如我忘記起床似的。
And if a day goes by without my doing something related to photography, it's as though I've neglected something essential to my existence, as though I had forgotten to wake up.

The rays coming through the clouds gave a blissful view and reminded me of Sun as a life source. Handled shot in a moving car at 1/4000s, f2.8 , ISO 200, 13mm with B+W Polarizer and ND Grad filters processed in LR Mobile.
Not sure if there is such a thing as fecal fungus but that is what we called the ming that surrounds this door frame.

A big one to visit on our list and after some fun and games accessing in the dead of night, we were successful.
This asylum was built at the end of the 19th century. It was initially used as a hospital for mentally ill patients and later it was used as a military academy. This location held the equipment where people were treated with ECT and operations to the nervous system.
The asylum closed it's doors in the end of the 20th century when there were laws passed that deemed that asylums had to close their doors.
