Dyrhólaey, Iceland. The view westwards with the whole coastline in the direction of Selfoss surely leaves a mark in everyone's memory. This is a panorama stack of 51 megapixels. Have a nice day! :-)

So I've been spending a lot of my time in Tremont lately on Thunderhead Prong, but this past week I was looking around Middle Prong and realized the colors were better. I decided to change it up a bit and shoot that stream for a while, and I'm looking forward to returning in the near future. That little red tree on the right was amazing!
Had some time to go through some of the other shots I took on the South Downs while waiting for the sunset. I have to say that this shot looked so much better at the time, somehow I don't think I have captured the scale of the land and rays... Looked pretty damn awesome!
Looking towards The Needles from Hill Head, Hampshire I spotted this small yacht as the shafts of light rained down.
light piercing through the cloud....
Taken 2/3 hours before the previous pic (dark clouds of a storm) amazing !! ... isn't it?

My girl, twenty two weeks pregnant, probably wondering when her man is going to stop playing around with his camera in the crisp morning air. I love this woman, as radiant as only a Mum to be can be.
We've also moved house in the last week for the second time in three months, I have so many Flickr friends to catch up on!
Similar yet quite different.........

The light through the trees was amazing this morning with the March frost still on the ground. Just a shame I had to get to work!
A special night capture testing the new camera tool. It works pretty well...and low noise. A torch light was moved in 12 seconds from bottom to top during night.

A novice monk is immersed in light rays at a temple in Bagan while reading a book. One aspect of Buddhism that I admire greatly is their emphasis on education and freeing the mind from worldly attachments and distractions. Earlier this year I visited a school for monks in Cambodia where they house and educate children in the Buddhist tradition. The monks and teachers that I met there were intellectually vibrant, open minded and curious about the world around them, unlike the stereotypes that we sometimes hold of people who appear to be cloistered in a monastery.
Fort Adams State Park
Newport, Rhode Island
2013
Inside one of the many spaces inside Fort Adams in Newport, RI.
"The forces of nature that gave the settlers of Rhode Island one of the finest natural harbors in the world, Narragansett Bay, also presented them with a military challenge. Part of the challenge was to prevent an enemy fleet from entering the bay to attack friendly ships or cities along the shore. Another part was to prevent an enemy from seizing the bay to use it for a base of operations.
Periodically, those charged with meeting this challenge have had to answer three broad questions. The first was whether to fortify the bay in addition to, or in place of, defending it by strictly naval means. If the answer was yes, questions remained as to what type of fortifications should be built and where they should be located. A look at how these questions were answered in the past provides not only an insight into an important aspect of Newport’s history, but a review of the development of American seacoast defenses as well."
A lonely bush is not a lonely tree. But it still wants to be one, though?

We live in a wonderful world full of beauty, charm, and adventure. There is no end to the adventure we have if only we seek them with our eyes open.

Fog reduces the contrast of a scene dramatically. It is ideal for landscape photos. For best results I would recommend shooting in RAW. There is a much more leniency in changing the exposure in post-production and most importantly the white balance when shooting RAW. The auto white balance (AWB) can easily be fooled by fog. Adding a slightly blue cast to the images can enhance the mood of the photos. It is usually required to use a tripod when photographing in foggy conditions. Without adding noise to the photo you wil usually get an exposure that is too long for hand held photography. In my case it was at night and only a little bit of lights from the street lights. As always when using a tripod, remember to turn off optical stabilisation.
