Antelope Canyon was such a great experience. In the two hours that I was in the slot canyon, I took over 500 pictures and inhaled a unhealthy amount of dust. I see a peace sign in the particular light shaft, what do you see?
After climbing to the top of this same peak two days earlier with my wife, I had to do it a second time. Our first venture to the top was in a light rain, and once we got to the summit, we were greeted with overcast skies.
I knew that if the sun was out, the karst peaks would create some interesting light beams later in the day. So two days later, when I saw that the conditions were ripe, my wife shopped in the village below as I made the trek to the top again. This was truly the first time I have ever been so hot that I could understand how someone could get heat stroke. But the climb was worth it, and I had the top of the peak all to myself.

The early morning sun burst through the mist and created one of those moments of wonder and delight. This was taken in Seal Harbor, Maine next to Acadia National Park. Please view large by clicking on the image.

My last upload until I actually get out and take some fresh images. I miss my Flickr comings and goings, it would feel so good to have something new to share. I have a plan though.........
The clouds kept getting lower and lower until I could reach up and touch them. They started coming through the trees like ghost. Was one of the most amazing nature experiences I have ever had.
Experience the breathtaking beauty of the Fraser Valley at sunset. This aerial perspective captures the majestic Fraser River as it snakes through the fertile valley floor, bathed in the warm glow of the setting sun. Lush green farmlands dot the landscape on the left, contrasting with the rich, dark forests bordering the winding river. Dramatic clouds drift over the distant mountains, with striking rays of light piercing through.
The golden light reflects vividly off the river's surface, creating a path of light through the scene. It's a tranquil and expansive view, showcasing the natural grandeur of British Columbia's agricultural heartland as day gives way to twilight. A stunning display of nature's artistry in a vast valley landscape.

A once in a life time opportunity to be on top of 555 California. I had to soak it in, for just a little bit.

We visited this incredible botanical gardens in Cape Town with my wife called Kirstenbosch. It was midday so photography is a challenge during these hours as the sun is very harsh. It's not really a good idea to shoot into the sun either during midday because it usually will wash out the details in a scene. By placing the sun out of the frame, I was able to capture the light quite well.
I don't care if it hurts
I want to have control
I want a perfect body
I want a perfect soul.
But I'm a creep, I'm a weirdo.

who hasn't felt like they didn't belong at some point in their lives? I have. many, many times. and I've been meaning to portray Radiohead's Creep in a photo in really long. so today was the day.
so well, hello there, flickr!! :D I haven't been around in ages even though I've been photographing more than ever these past couple of months! :) I went to the woods nearby my place with my girls today and the above image is what some fabric throwing and freelensing ended up as :) I'm pretty happy with it, I have been meaning to work on my freelensing skills in forever, so today was really good. I will post some more concepts of today as soon as I get around to editing them.
thank you so much for your continuous support, I'm always amazed by how many people care!!
"All i can see is black and white
Tried to get up on my knees and fight
Searching for a ray of light
Before i completely lose my sight
All I know is that I keep on running
It was a long long road of dreaming
But something inside my head
is screaming
That maybe I should stop hiding"

The life of a truck driver entails 300 days a year driving from city to city by miles of highway and road. The most difficult part is the enormous amount of time you spend alone or talking with strangers (ie. Waitresses, dock workers, and other drivers). However, there are perks to every job that you work. In this picture I tried to portray the beauty which lies behind the loneliness of a truck driver.
While driving back home on my road trip from Chicago to Oregon. I was crossing the Kansas-Colorado border and noticed in the distance an interesting sunset approaching. With half the sky bright as can be illuminating everything in its path to the East. Than the clouds started splitting the sun rays into hundreds of fingers that speckled the Kansas wheat fields. Looking through the lens I could not take my eyes off the viewfinder.
Then my head turned to the West toward Colorado, where lies a massive snow storm approaching the transcendent light. The calm before the storm caused an eruption of contrast and colors, causing me to stay for over an hour.

We stayed a night at the Wates-Gibson Hut on Outpost Lake while hiking the Tonquin Valley. Given the torrential rain we had all night it was nice to be able to walk out in the morning without packing up our tents in the mud. The clouds parted a little at sunrise; just enough to let a few rays of sun through and give us some hope that it would not rain continuously for the remaining three days of the hike. This shot was taken of Blackhorn Peak (3000m or 9843ft ).

I shot this hand-held last year in the morning just after waking up. I have already posted a more natural version of this image here. I added some tone mapping effects in ACR to the image and used the spot adjustment tool to add a yellow colour to the clouds and a blue colour to the water, together I think they contrast very nicely.
When I opened the RAW file in CS4, I saved as a 16 bit TIFF file and continued to edit the image. I added light rays by rendering clouds, using threshold adjustments and then bluring the layer and changing the blending mode and opacity. I added the rain by creating a noise layer and using motion blur on it and setting the blend mode to screen. At the end of the editing I saved the 16 bit TIFF file, converted to sRGB colourspace and saved as a JPEG to upload to the internet.
