Light Rays are Cool!

Here's another from my outing the other day. I'm still trying to decide which of these I like better. My wife likes the other one better, and I think I like this one. That's how it goes though, right? :)

Homecoming night 2010. Completely natural lighting. Someone's garage door was open with the light on, and there was so much fog that it made this happen. So beautiful, i'm glad i got to get this snap.

I am sharing another shot from a beautiful autumn sunrise on the Art Loeb Trail near Black Balsam Knob. The road going across the ridge is the Blue Ridge Parkway heading towards Graveyard Fields. I was a little late for the peak colors in this exact area but the light was beautiful on this morning and was constantly changing. It kept me on the move constantly but I managed to capture some beautiful moments.

As I was about to leave the marina park in Alviso, I saw these pretty light rays coming down from the heaven. I immediately took a few shots. Thanks to the dynamic range of the Nikon Coolpix A, I could get away with a perfect exposure in one shot, no need to process a HDR image. I don't think I could pull it off with my Canon gear.

We look at the world and see what we have learned to believe is there. We have been conditioned to expect.... but, as photographers, we must learn to relax our beliefs.
