The first time in the Redwoods was spectacular. Perfect conditions for photography! The fog was so thick and the light, only obstructed by the trees. Everywhere you looked there seemed to be light rays peeking through. Truly a magical experience!
Coming back from the beach at the end of the day, the light was golden and this was the view over the dunes.

IT'S BETTER: ON BLACK
So I haven't been able to get out and photograph anything the past couple days due to the winds and rain, but this morning, I went outside and saw this outside my house.
I've actually got a bunch more from this morning, trying different angles and exposures, but I'm partial to this one - it's simple, but effective.
Let me know what you think.
...
I'll probably upload a couple more from this series in the next day or two.
30/05/2015; Newsflash. It isn't as easy to catch thos lighthouse rays as I thought it would be. Still haven't a friggin' clue what to do, so if you got some pointers on how to get the rays of the lighthouse in a photo? You know where to find me. :)

"Then the soul, freed from vice, purged by studies of true philosophy, versed in spiritual life, and practised in matters of the intellect, devoted to the contemplation of her own substance, as if awakened from deepest sleep, opens those eyes which all possess but few use, and sees in herself a ray of that light which is the true image of the angelic beauty communicated to her, and of which she then communicates a faint shadow to the body."

At sunset in Ha Long Bay there was an interesting light phenomenon when the many tall limestone karst islands cast their shadows into the sky during a beautiful sunset. Ha Long Bay is a UNESCO World Heritage Site in north Vietnam that is a popular cruising and boating destination
I love catching light rays in this Canyon. A bit of wildfire smoke in the air and mist from the raging waters added to the atmosphere.
